We have the talent to beat any one of the NFC East teams on any given day. But overall the Skins are an 8-8 team, plus or minus.

Right now we are on the minus side and would get beat by any of them playing the way we did against Tampa. Unfortunately it would take pitfalls for the other three teams for us to have a chance in the division.

I love the optimism, but struggling to score points against some of the worst defenses in the league is not encouraging.

This team just cannot score points in sufficient quantity to seriously challenge for anything but borderline mediocrity, and that's only because the defense, while disappointing, still seems able to keep games in reach.

Well we look at the schedule, but nothing is set in stone. If the Giants go into this game against the Raiders, they could get bit like when they lost to the Browns. There's atleast four games especially the tail end of the season where they might lose.

Our guys basically need to go out in every game and execute, and not worry what they're going to put in their blogs, or say in the media.

Let's see where the new set of eyes will take us.

The Giants, Eagles, and Dallas have all scored 30 points on opponents. We have not been able to do that even against the weakest teams. If our offensive production continues as is, we are going nowhere. Hiring Sherm Lewis may help us in the long term, but I think anybody expecting immediate results is delusional. If he DOES make an impact this season, it won't be for a at least 3 or 4 games. Probably when it's to late.

The only thing that will shape up well for Redskins fans is that Dallas might not win 8 games this year.

Other than that, it's more of the same from the Skins.

They can't get out of their own way, what makes you think they are going to magically learn how to score overnight?

If there is a will, then there is a way. It is not a matter of just scoring points, it is also a matter of seeing improvement. Have you not seen any?

Giants have whooped us the last 7/8 meetings. Eagles we swept last year but top to bottom they are a better team; as are cowpukes. The core of a team are the lines both offensive and defensive and qb's. We are by far the worst in the division using those metrics.

At BEST this is an 8-8 team. And right now I'd say 4-12 is much more likely.

We are never going to catch the Giants. Flat out, hands down. They are going to be a 12-4, 13-3 type team, if not better. They're just too damned good.

We could catch the Cowboys & Eagles. They are being their typical flash in the pan selves, winning big some weeks and looking terrible other weeks. If we can sneak wins against them, we could be 9-7 at the end of all this and be second in the East, but these are all big ifs, and who is to say 9-7 is going to get it this season as far as wildcards go?

I think if you really think this team can make the playoffs (Good luck recruiting people onto that boat), we should be more worried about teams like the Cardinals/49ers, Saints/Falcons, and Packers. Those are the teams we're going to be fighting for spots, and I truthfully think we can play just as good as some of the teams on that list.

Sure...it will shape up well. The Skins will get a MUCH higher draft pick than any of the others!

Anyone thinking that a recently unemployed position coach is going to swing the balance of power in a division is probably kidding themselves.

I think it is possible. The Skins season is still alive. I have had planters b4 like Eli. Let me tell you,...It is very painfull. There is no timetable when the pain goes away. It may not be as bad for Eli, but if you saw how he went down, it lets you know how painfull it is to walk on it. Im sure they will use all the best tools to get him better. But my point is, anything is possible.

Put in your contact lenses. The only thing I saw was desperation against arguably the worst team in the league.....and we barely got it done. Hopefully Zorn gets fired during the bye, a new coach comes in and tanks the rest of our games using them as an evaluation tool to see who stays and who goes. Vinny keeps his money in his pocket during the off-season and actually focuses on the draft for once. Only then will we see any improvement.

Man, I was getting ready to tear you apart for that "talent" comment, but I see that you recovered quickly and got back to reality in paragraph 2.

All I can tell Moss and Portis about all of that "talent" is, that there is a boat-load of talented dudes playing chess in the park every day too. So GTFOH with that rhetoric and play ball.

I'm in the minority here, but if the Redskins can win the next two, somehow, I think they can make a playoff run. I think the Giants win 12 or 13 games so the division is theirs. However, how much longer can the Redskins play this bad? They have to turn it around at some point. Would 9-7 make the playoffs in the NFC? I don't know, but I think the Redskins can get there if they improve and stay healthy.

Are you talking about the same Redskins team that has narrowly missed going 0-5 vs. the Lions, Rams, and Bengals the last two seasons?

Far too many people simply don't want to accept the fact that the Redskins are a bottom feeding NFL franchise.

Accept it - we can shake hands with the likes of the Raiders, Lions, and Browns. We're that bad.

The lions rolled through us and we beat the bucs and rams by a total of 5 points. All we really have to look forward to is coaching candidates and mock drafts and its only; week 5 thats the saddest part. when you look at our recent past seasons you have to have that feeling tha t we are going to lose all of our dividion games and the nfc is very competitive this year. We also have to travel to Cali two times this season also. But after all that is said there is nothing i want more then a shot at a wild card.
