DieHard86
Why not activate Marko Mitchell and throw him a jump ball? He can't do any worse than those two other bums
ceviker
I have no freakin clue. It pisses me off that hes not playing. GIVE HIM SOME F'N REPS! If he sucks, take him out. But he can't possibly be worse.
rd421
I'd like to see what the kid can do as well...looks like right now he is a project player and more than likely he is not active for a reason...I do see potential in this kid though lets give him a shot. Heck I'd deactivate D Thomas that kid is invisable once the ball is snapped... I can't ever find him unless hes doing something wrong

TD_washingtonredskins
We should feel comfortable playing any man on our 53-man roster. I agree with you. Give the kid a shot.

But he can't possibly be worse. Exactly. What exactly have Thomas and Kelly done to prove anything? Worst case scenario Mitchell comes in and can't get open or won't have balls thrown to him, which is exactly whats happening right now anyway. I see other teams take advantage of #2/3 receivers and other low round draft picks all the time. Why are our coaches so obsessed with high draft status and "crafty vets"? Because we've won sooo many Super Bowls with them right...?
superozman
Why do people constantly start threads about Kelly and Thomas? They dont get the ball because JC's progression never reaches them, and JC only throws about half his passes to WR's. This isn't a JC bashing post, it's the truth and numbers can back it up. Hail Gibbs
Anyone who attends the games knows that Kelly and Thomas are getting open This. I have seen both get open on numerous occasions and JC doesn't even look to them at all. Typically Campbell locks in on either Moss or Cooley and if they aren't open then he dumps it off. I remember Thomas being practically unguarded a few times last year and JC never had a clue.
TSO
We have to remember that inserting Mitchell would cost someone both practice reps and playing time. It would basically set someone back. You'd have to basically be giving up, or willing to wait longer, on one of the young WRs if you were to do so... so I don't know.
Truant
There have been multiple discussions after games about these two (particularly Thomas) being open for big plays but JC either not having time or not seeing them. If WRs don't have the ball thrown to them, they can't prove much.
icbmayday
I think he should get a shot though, he might be able to get more separation with his 4.4 speed

TSO
This. I have seen both get open on numerous occasions and JC doesn't even look to them at all. Typically Campbell locks in on either Moss or Cooley and if they aren't open then he dumps it off. I remember Thomas being practically unguarded a few times last year and JC never had a clue. I find it real hard to believe any WR was just left "unguarded". People were saying the same about Taylor Jacobs and Brandon Lloyd when Brunell was playing and we all know how good they were. Sometimes I think WRs look open when they aren't, especially deep down the field when one has to take into account the time the ball has to take to get to the guy if the QB decided to throw it to him. It's like what Landry does for us. You don't see him running stride for stride with anyone, and sometimes there's a whole lot of space between he and opposing WRs running deep routes, but the QB knows if he releases the ball Landry can easily make up the distance by the time the ball gets there. As a QB, you've got to account for the Safety's speed and the timing it'll take for the ball to get to where you're throwing it even when a guy seems open. Saying that, I do believe Campbell can take more chances... as he did against the Bucs. God willing, he continues to do so and gets better at it since he hasn't done it so much in game situations. Skinsinparadise
I was at the game on Sunday, and nope Kelly and Thomas at least to my eyes weren't open much. The guy that seemed to almost always find an opening was Cooley.
jivelikenice
You people just don't get it. No wr on this team will ever be a consistent player with 1. Campbell at the helm and 2. Playing 5th fiddle to Moss, Cooley, ARE, Betts out of the backfield.....Our #2 WR is actually our 5th option.

Da Truth
Put em out on the field; the reason he's not out there is beyond me but we are not out there daily for the practices so who knows whats really going on but the actual team but IMO its hard to believe that somebody with such a productive preseason is stinkin it up..I mean @ least give him a shot

I certainly don't believe this garbage. I was at the Rams game this year and didn't see a single occassion where they were wide open or unguarded as you suggest. And don't you think the coaches would see these instances of "unguarded" wide receivers running free on film over and over again and address the situation? Or do they just suck that much too? Something so obvious to so many amateurs ought to be recognized at some point by a professional coach right? Or is it a personal vendetta that JC has against Thomas and Kelly? Or maybe he doesn't want to throw TD passes. Maybe its all part of his plan to get out of town and screw over as many disgruntled fans in his path. Maybe he's intimidated by the likes of guys like you and BLC. Maybe thats what it is. Yeah, thats the ticket.
andyburd
Well if you don't think so then problem solved. Lets dump them and put Mitchell in the lineup..... They may be open half the time, but I think it is the little things such as route running and blocking that makes me mad. They have had two training camps and many games to do a little better than what we are getting out of them. I will say this, Zorn is not calling their # very much, so we may never know
Streater101
I know for a fact Kelly was running all alone on a post route when Campbell decided the ball would be better placed into the depths of double coverage down field to Santana. Result: INT. The whole situation between him and Kelly reminds me of playing b-ball with a ball hog who only decides to pass the ball to you at the most inopportune times, not the other 99x's you were open. The play results in a TO, and then people who aren't paying attention can be like "see, this is why he's not passing him the ball"
