If Zorn is eventually fired: Good or bad for JC?

We entered the season with the idea that Zorn would at least need to reach the playoffs to remain head coach. Now it seems like the leash may even be shorter barring a major shift in performance.

If Zorn is to be fired, either during the season or after, how does this influence your feelings about Campbell and trying to give him the chance to develop? Do you think he will be resigned so that a new coach can evaluate him? Will he be able to thrive in another new system (or at least with a new coaching staff)? Has he been so impressive that he should be allowed even more time to adapt and develop?

The only way Campbell comes back is if he and he alone is the sole cause for this team making the playoffs. Some teams feed off their QB and that could lead them to the playoffs. If the Skins make the playoffs because of plays that Jason has made, then he comes back.

If the Skins make the playoffs but in spite of Jason, then the Skins will look at other options.

No playoffs and forget it. No playoffs means a new regime and you can expect sweeping changes; especially if 2010 remains a non-cap year.

Even if we get a new HC I think Zorn should be kept on the staff as the QB's coach or Asst. coach. I think he's done some great things with JC and would continue to do great things with any QB we bring on board.

That's like the President coming back to be Vice President, it doesn't happen and will not happen, even if Holmgren was named the coach.

What, in the name of God, do you mean time to develop? This is the fifth year for the big stiff. He's past development. The facts are in, he stinks on ice. He's inaccurate, not poised in the pocket, not a leader, and dumb as a fence post. Did you see Falcco yesterday? He's everything the Redskins were hoping that Campbell would be. Falcco is a star in his second year and puts the lie to JC needing another decade to develop.

At this point it's going to take a miracle for either Zorn or Campbell to be here next year.

Considering I'm in the minority of fans who actually likes Campbell - I hope that it can happen but I'm assuming I'm just going to have to hope he lands with a decent team next year where he can eventually have a chance to turn his career around.

HUH? I'm pretty sure Campbell has regressed since last season, and we haven't even played any defenses that you can actually name starters on.

Who thinks Campbell is going to be re-signed this offseason either way?

Depends on the options we have. The QB rookie class looks really top heavy and shallow.

Who (if any) are the FA QB's next year you'd want running this offense?

Is there anyone out there that would be able to be acquired in trade?

All in all, we may be forced to sign Campbell to a modest, short term contract.

I think it could be both, good because the other coach might actually let him pass and fix the O line to where he has time to pass, but at the same time he wont have a QB coach like Zorn is.

What has Zorn done for Campbell as a QB coach? I heard a peewee coach give his QB better advice. If anything I think Zorn made him worse. I also get the impression Campbell learns his strengths as he goes while as Zorn tries to made Campbell strong in certain areas that he just lacks. A QB coach is suppose to find out his QBs strengths and improve those while working on areas that need help. I dont see Zorn working on Campbell's strengths and as result they begin to fade away.

The problem you have, or actually the good thing is that JC is a restricted free agent and Snyder isn’t going to just let him walk. He will have value to us one way or another. If his play merits another year of starting and there’s no one available that the team covets more then he will be tendered. If they have someone else that they want more then he will be tendered to negotiate some kind of trade. No matter your personal feelings about him you have to look at it realisticly and he won’t simply be allowed to walk.
