The Sean and Laron show
Just counting 09 season 13 tackles, 2 sacks vs. 16 Tackles, 0 sacks. The rookie just seems to get better every game, we just need to blitz him more often from the LB spot. On the other hand....Phillip Daniels needs to go hold a clipboard or make sure there's plenty of gatorade for the rest of the guys, 'cause he's simply not getting it done. Buck812
Yeah, isn't it nice when we put him at the position we need him at DE!!! To bad we dont have a LB to to replace him with and let him move to DE.
JeepRyder
Orakpo is getting better and better every game. He now has back to back games with a sack. Just imagine if he was at DE full time. Are we sure Chris Wilson cant be the OLB and let Orakpo start at DE?
NoleSkin21
Jr. Seau, and Derrick Brooks were out there. Im sure they can still play.
TimmySmith
I know this is a funny thread but seriously I would take Ware over anyone on the current Skins defense. With apologies to London of course.
rd421
I thought to my self yesterday...HOLY CRAP our rookie DE is actually playing DE where am I bizarro world? That being said this kid needs to be playing DE he is a pass rusher and at best is a liability in pass coverage right now. I want him next to Fat Albert going full speed at the qb. If they play him more at DE he can still be DROY and WILL be a game changer... I don't care if they have to put HB Blades or Chris Wilson in at LB heck I'd pupt Jarmon at the Other End spot and let Andre Carter play LB he did it San Fran

SirClintonPortis
Where has been shutout. tr1 appears to be right about him missing Greg Ellis...and that Ratliff is their best lineman...Orakpo is doing this a LB. Beastliness>>>>>overrated and will be overpaaaaaaid.

Washington is still out there. Wish he would come back and play his old spot while Wilson learns from him. Injuries killed him, not ability. Are we sure Chris Wilson cant be the OLB and let Orakpo start at DE? He is definitely getting more comfortable with the NFL game. I wanted to wait and see on the OLB experiment but at this point I would love it if he started instead of PD. Also good to see that Jarmon is starting to make the most of his reps too. I really want to see this D-line break through the wall and become known for stuffing runs and pressuring the QB without a blitz but we just aren't there yet. And I dont see how u think Orakpo is playing better just because he has more tackles. Ware had 20 sacks last season. I'm willing to bet we wont have one player that gets half that many. Daniels is not a pressure creating DE, hes always been a run stopper. Carter is supposed to be the sack specialist. But for whatever reason he hasnt been effective. The Sean and Laron show
^(pastha43) Did you read the first sentence? You sound like a cowboys fan. P. Daniels a run stopper? Everytime i see him 1 on 1 with a RB, his ankles look like they've been placed on IR.
tone_dubbz
Orakpo was getting held all day I felt as well. Yeah I saw that too. They couldn't handle him coming off the edge, which is where he's most effective. He needs to stay there, and let Jarmon get some playing time on the other end. We have either been doing a really good job of hiding him in coverage, or he is aquitting himself just fine. This is three weeks in a row that Rak has gotten good pressure. Rak was crushing Bulger in the Rams game. If he had better hands, Brian would have had another two sacks yesterday. I hope he doesn't hit a rookie slump. We really lucked into him at pick 13. Does anybody know how Aaron Maybin is doing?

Does anybody know how Aaron Maybin is doing? I seem to remember him getting picked on in the Giants game but I can give you one for sure. The Lions game 4th quarter last Lions possession Rak got beat badly for the 1st down, with a batted ball there we would have had at least a minute or more time to try and win that game. And I am not anti Orakpo I love the kid I was sooo pumped we got him. I am just saying hes a man child DE who should be playing DE let him rush the qb let him cause pressure...Why make him be something hes not? Thinking Skins
Why do we do this to ourselves? We're comparing our rookie who has has some decent games to a pro bowl all pro DE who had 20 sacks last year. And then we say we're not homers. Burgold
What I want to see Orakpo do is learn to finish the plays... he is fantastic at applying pressure, but if he converted half his serious pressures to sacks he'd be hof worthy already (slight exaggerations), but he has allowed too many to break tackles or slip away. Good thread. Ware Beware.
JohnnyUtah
Orakpo was getting held all day I felt as well. I'm glad I'm not the only one. It seems like he gets held wayyy more than what is being called.

Ware has proven to be an amazing football player and Orakpo is coming along at a sweet pace. I'm just glad we have a guy that can be compared to DWare and I hope he lives up to it. As for Ware not being as good w/o Ellis, it might be true but I still don't like the prospect of facing him. He's a stud.
