kwitt
:adoration Don't know about the rest of you but I would LOVE to have Jeff Fisher as our next head coach. May be a long shot but there is a lot of discontent in Tennessee right now. :adoration http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/10/04/snap.judgments/index.html?eref=T1
loren
There is no way Fischer will get fired in Tennessee. If he is, the ownership there is idiotic.

Wouldn't be too sure of that...Shanahan gets fired in Denver, McDaniels has the team at 4-0 right now. Other owners might be tempted to do the same thing if they have some long-standing coaches with past success but aren't really doing much right now... Fischer's a great coach, if he got run out of town and Zorn doesn't turn this around, that would be a GREAT hire. It would be an absolutely brilliant steal. Which is exactly why it wouldn't happen. Larry Brown #43
I'd be stunned if they were to fire Fisher after one poor season. He's one of the best coaches in the league. I've always felt that I'd love for him to coach the Skins one day. If the Titans let him go, there will be multiple teams interested in his services for sure. Possibly, but let's see how McDaniels does the rest of the season. Also, Shanahan's teams had struggled some in the years leading up to his getting fired. It was only last year that Fischer's team ran off a 10-0 start. And while an owner might be tempted to pull the trigger sooner, I still think it would be pretty dumb to do it. MWCREDSKINS
I would jump on him in a second but I don't think they let him go for one bad season and I still think they might right the ship. Shanahan really is the most likely choice but I want Cowher
BigMike21
Fisher isn't going to get fired. Even if he did he isn't a sexy enough hire for Snyder and we all know it.
Metskins
They could bring in Vince Lombardi's ghost and unless Cerrato was removed and Snyder was pushed to the background, ZERO would change.

88Comrade2000
Bud Adams who still thinks Vince Young is an NFL QB. Bud Adams who moved from Houston to Nashville. There has been a little tension with him and Fisher. It wouldn't be surprising to see Fisher let go and if it happens, he will be Dallas's next coach. Jerry Jones wanted him a few years ago. That Redskins Fan
I was thinking about this the other day... If (big if) , but gruden got canned an no one saw that coming and mike s in denver then snyder needs to hire asap.. the right head coach for a rebuilding job and tough nose and gets the best out of his players exception vince young, but i was never high on young to begin with so

Yeah, but they were one and done in the playoffs...hell, even Wade Phillips went 12-1 2 years ago lol . A 10-game winning streak followed up by an immediate departure from the playoffs might not be enough to keep Fisher around if the Titans keep losing. Plus, they were 10-6 the year before that, and only 8-8 the year before that...and 4-12 a year before THAT lol. The Titans haven't won a playoff game since 2003... No knock against Fisher, of course...I'd love to have him as the Skins coach. But he's not quite as "untouchable" as we may want to believe. The Titans' owner might be thinking it's time to move in another direction.

Well, he may not be untouchable, but considering his body of work, and the fact that he is widely considered one of the best coaches in the NFL, I would be surprised if he got canned for a bad year. Regardless, I would love to have him as a coach, BUT, if you're Fischer, and you do get fired, would you come to the Redskins? He'll have his pick of jobs, and no shortage of owners willing to put up big bucks, there's no reason for him to choose a franchise with a truly dysfunctional front office. Califan007 The Constipated
13-3 last year. Would still be surprised if he ws fired. Ravens went 13-3 in 2006...then went 5-11 in 2007. Billick got canned. His replacement has been outstanding. I do think Fisher is a better coach than Billick was, of course...but just saying that 13-3 seasons don't guarantee you anything. Ego lol ...If you're the coach that gets the Redskins turned around, not only does it polish up your resume, you'll ALSO have an owner in your corner who's willing to shell out huge bucks and pretty much do whatever it takes to keep you around. And if you fail, nobody alive would blame you, they'd all blame Snyder, even if Snyder didn't deserve the blame lol...

My hesitation was due to my belief that Vince Young is overrated & a 1st round bust with happy feet. After all, Jeff made the right call to bench the dude (Something Zorn wouldn't have the cojones to do).

Billick was firmly in the hot seat before the 13-3 season that I don't think a lot of people saw coming. It saved his job for another year but it was time for him to go. I don't see that with Fisher.
