Destino
Very simple thread people keep talking about what has changed so let's look at the numbers: JC 08 after 4 games: 81/124 (65.3%) 878 6TD 0Int 7Sck 0Fum JC 09 after 4 games: 81/124 (65.3%) 963 5TD 5Int 8Sck 7Fum(2 lost) Right off the bat you can see that JC has taken a major step back in turnovers. He has 7 turnovers this season compared to zero last season after the first 4 games. He has passed for more yards but less touchdowns. Let's also keep in mind that the turnover numbers are heavily skewed due to todays game where Jason had 4. Now let's look at Clinton Portis: CP 08 after 4 games: 86Att 369yards 4.3Avg 3TD 0Fum CP 09 after 4 games: 72Att 281yards 3.9Avg 0TD 0Fum Attempts are down, yards are down, average is down, touchdowns are down. All against an easier schedule than last year. This is bad all around. Either way, feel free to talk about progress or the opposite. People get emotional but the numbers are the numbers. No emotion just the results.

herrmag
The majority of this is the O-line. We can't establish a consistent run game. That puts too much pressure on Campbell. He's a good QB, but he'll never carry a team, and it's pretty much put on his shoulders at this point. That's too much to ask of him. Some teams don't need a stud at QB, just a good QB. But, without a run game or superstar defense (of which we have neither), this is the result. The 100+ million should've been spent on the O-LINE, but our dip**** of an owner can't help himself. Obviously I feel the same about why CP's stats are down.
buenosdiaz
i dont get why we continue run to the outside with portis as if he were a scat back. As bad as the playcalling has been this year we are taking more shots which is good. I don't know what to make of this season yet... I think we could be worse...Something just isn't there at least we got a big play...i just dont see portis eing capable of huge games anymore... I like our receivers but we have yet to find a game breaker...santana is good on the fly if he beats coverage but none of our guys will break tackles (other than cooley) When is the last time a redskin player made a play like brandon marshall did today and shown that kind of instict
tshile
JC's turnovers are disturbing although 3 of his 5 INTS were today, and 2 of his 7 fumbles were today (7 is frekin high for a qb...)
GhostofSparta
JC 08 after 4 games: 81/124 (65.3%) JC 09 after 4 games: 81/124 (65.3%) Ok, does anybody else find that extremely weird, or is it just me? As for Portis....well, he's a year older, a year slower, and another year of beatings added on to his body. He may prove us all wrong and have a breakout year, but I think his days as a feature back are very close to the end.
480SkinsFan
If the O-Line could hold their own, I think these numbers would be better and our season would be better. CP is a little banged up but if he is able to get by these games without major injury, I believe he will have a good year. We need Devin and Malcolm to step up and make more plays. JC seems to try to get them involved but they always seem to be covered which leads me to believe that they cant get separation.

I kept looking at it to make sure I'm not crazy or something. I think this says more about our Oline than either Campbell or Portis.

It's 41 mil with the rest in incentives that will be restructured. Our O-line looked like swiss cheese today.

It throws the Balance sheet out of whack. 41 mill or 100 mill, the intent of our owner was the same. Addressing the wrong need, and overpaying for it. NoCalMike
Our team could run the ball through eight games in 2008. I would say our running game is what has regressed the most. If anything Campbell should be somewhat given credit for playing decent without a real running game behind him.
Warhead36
Outside of Cooley the entire offense has taken a step back compared to last year.
