Through Wk 4, Can this be accurate? Campbell 3rd in NFC in passing yards?

I'm just surprised, but this is based on a glance at the stats compiled so far.

JC actually appears to be 3rd in overall passing yards for the NFC (not NFL, but NFC) quarterbacks. He had 795. Which makes him third, with only Warner and Brees having more. It also appears that JC is 2nd in total number of completions (at 69) in the NFC, with Brees 3rd and Warner 1st.

Hmmmm... I've never been a Campbell supporter, but I wouldn't argue that strongly against those who say that it's the coaching that's kept him back.

Update: As of this Monday morning, I check the updated and current stats on NFL.com (ESPN.com deserves blame for any inaccuracies in last night's data, should have known better than to trust that source!) ... and Campbell is behind only Eli, Brees and (by only 27 yards) Romo sits to pee, as of now, as far as the NFC is concerned. Also, to reinforce the follow-up I also posted about AFC QBs vs. NFC QBs, all top 6 are from the AFC (with 7-10, including Campbell at #10, from the NFC.

And for what it's worth, his total number of completions (81) is actually 2nd in the NFC now (second only to Brees)

He has 963 yards through 4 weeks, actually...not sure how much he has dropped after today's game, though. I doubt he's still #3.

Ooops... You're probably right.... Those stupid tables are not updated, or are only partially updated for some players at this point in time (8:50pm EST). Oh well. But I was still impressed at his overall level of yardage completed relative to others.

Yardage and TD-wise, he's on pace for a 20 TD, 4,000 yard season lol...but considering the level of competition he's gone up against, I don't see him keeping up that pace much longer, unfortunately.

the funny thing about rooting for this team is, they usually do much better against good teams than they do against bad teams

i don't get too scared if they're facing drew brees, but if they're facing some 3rd string rookie i **** myself

I agree, I expect better numbers. I say that because I think the coaching is the reason we play up or down to the team we are up against that week. IMO, our games are close because of conservative play-calling, and this dates back to Gibbs. Zorn, and Gibbs, seemed to call plays based off of how the other team was doing. I.e. if they were putting up points, the play-calling would seem to open up a bit, and we would generally score more points.

Now I like Zorn, and want him to stay, but he needs to work on his play-calling.

LoL So true!!...Actually I don't think Brees has beaten the Skins while with the Saints yet lol...but all SORTS of rookie and undrafted QBs making their first starts seem to move up and down the damn field on us.

The untold story that helps put this in perspective is the huge gap between NFC and AFC QBs. JC might be statistically 3rd in yards as far as the NFC is concerned, but there are like half a dozen AFC QBs who outgained him in yards, most of them by a lot of yards in fact. We're talking about Manning, Rothlisberger, Rivers, Brady, Flacco, Schaub, and maybe even someone else.

Great, he has thrown for lots of yards.

He has also thrown 5 pics, lost 2 fumbles (plus fumbled at least 3 more), has led an offense that has not scored more than 17 points, and has been outplayed by Eli Manniing, Bulger, Stafford, and was basically even with J. Johnson. Considering the Skins have played 3 of the worst teams in the league (well, if you except them), JC is a mediocre QB, at best, and should not be starting for any team that has aspirations of making the playoffs. Please note: these stats don't take into account the number of bad passes, sacks where he holds onto the ball too long, and times when he just doesn't make good decisions (like making a 12 yard pass on 3rd and 15).

But hey, at least he throws for lots of yards (and oh, yeah, some QBs are starting to have byes - so we'll see how long he stays up in that table). Talk to me after week 15 (and the skins are 4-10).

SF---yes SF its sorry QB put up 35 points against ST Louis. How many Pts did a JC led Skins put up? 9

A Cutler led CB put up 48 points against the Lions. How many did the JC led put up?

JC is sorry.

Hill did not throw 5 touchdowns, only 2. Actually, most 50 TD teams are even split between running and passing TDs 25/25 or 30/20.

So Campbell gets criticized for his yardage numbers being padded because he played some bad teams (not saying you in particular criticized Campbell), but Flacco gets praised for his # of yards, despite him playing Kansas City, and Cleveland?

Don't forget the folks who said he hasn't thrown enough INTs and he's already 1 short of his entire total last year. They should be pleased because they wanted him to throw more picks.

Yardage-wise, right now Campbell is #7 in the NFL...Big Ben will probably move ahead of him after tonight's game. Rivers is already ahead of him with one less game played lol...

JC is sorry.

CUTLER PUT UP 141 YARDS AND 2 TD'S.

CAMPBELL PUT UP 340+ YARDS AND 2 TD'S.

The Bears TEAM put up more points against the Lions. CUTLER DID WORSE THAN CAMPBELL.

So by your logic, Cutler is an extra terribad, horribly crappy, ultra sorry QB.
