NFLN: Greatest 4th Qtr's in NFL History-Redskins V Bucs Nov 2005

Did anyone catch this last night? They replayed the 2nd half of the TB game from 11/13/05- where we had the lead, but TB scored a 2pt conversion w/ 48 seconds left and beat us?

Per NFL site- they do this every Thursday-"The 4th Quarter looks back at the most memorable fourth quarters in NFL History; prepping you for the upcoming weekend's games by reliving three of the most exciting finishes between teams set to faceoff on Sunday."

The one question I really had, why wasn't Sean Taylor in that game? I saw Pierson Prioleau, Walt Harris, C'los and Ryan Clark. #41?

There really isn't a link and I'm not sure if they are replaying this one. It brought back some memories, not great ones either. The defense couldn't make a stop when it was needed- something I'm seeing this year so far.

Thoughts?

Taylor was hurt when we played the 49ers- he intercepted Alex Smith and when he was running the pick back Brandon Lloyd of all people tripped him and it messed up his ankle.

I was at that Bucs game. More like worst 4th quarter ever. I'm still convinced Alstott didn't get in. Such a bogus call.

I was at that game. During the review and TV timeout, they played an angle on the jumbo tron that clearly showed that Alstott was down and the ball had not crossed the goal line. There was a collective groan out of over 70,000 people. He clearly did not get in and all the fans at the stadium saw the replay.

When they gave him the score after the review I was in complete shock. Before the call after the replay, every Buc fan in the stadium knew he didn't get in and not one will admit it today.

He spit in his face duting the playoff game. I still get fired up thinking about that 2 pt conversion. That almost cost us the playoffs.

Was ST hurt? I don't see any tackles from him...

ST was hurt and did not play.

After the game everyone was saying that Betts stepped out of bounds on the Kickoff return for a touchdown. That game had two instant replays on scores.

I remember on the instant replay on television, Troy Aikman was drawing circles around Alstott's elbow clearly on the ground before the goal line, showing he was down and the play should get overturned.

Just insane.

That whole game we looked like clowns.

Gregg Williams had zero clue how to scheme without Sean Taylor in the lineup, and gave up 280 yards and 3 TDs to Chris Simms of all people, and the refs screwed us so hard throughout that game (and I'm not one to complain about the refs much).

Another terrible call was in the 1st quarter, when Joey Galloway had a catch for a deep pass, like 35 or 40 yards, and the refs ruled it complete by Prioleau pushing him out of bounds, but on the replays it showed Prioleau never even touched him at all because he came over too late to do so. Galloway just stepped out of bounds on his own. But ruling a catch by being forced out wasn't reversible at the time so the play had to stand.

That whole game was a nightmare.

Absolutely right, I was at that game too and was proud of all the skins fans that traveled down there it was truly a fun weekend until that play. I too remember the replay on the jumbotron and thinking the call was gonna go our way. Our boys played a hell of a game that day though, I feel we are a shadow of that team which had it's own struggles at times but found a way to have a good season that year. Despite the horrible call in favor of an obviously down alstot that was a memorable game nonetheless.

That game cost me $8000

I always put like $10 on a 7, 8, 10 team parlay. It's like winning the lotto if I win. (Once won a 6 team Parlay which was nice!).

Anyway - I had a 9 team Parlay going and I actually WON the 1st 8! Skins were favored by 1......

ST spit in Pittmans face! And MA was not in! I dont care what you say!!

Wrong game.

And I still remember my blog post from that day:

His.

Elbow.

Was.

Down.

If we had won that game and the season played out like it did, then we would've been the second seed in the NFC. How much does THAT sting?
