ROMO, another "all time greatest list" - Road Win Percentage

I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet, but if we beat Denver this week, Tony Romo sits to pee will move past Joe Montana for the best road winning percentage by any starting quarterback during the Super Bowl era (minimum of 15 starts).

Romo sits to pee is 15-5 on the road, a winning percentage of .750. Montana was 61-20 (.753). A win in Denver would put Romo sits to pee at .762.

The only other quarterback with a road winning percentage better than .667 during the Super Bowl era is Tom Brady, who is 42-14 and has a home game this week.

So while everyone gets caught up in the sub par game from him at home against the Giants, this little stat proves he plays big in big games because every away game in the NFL is a tough game.

BS! What about the big games in December to get tham into the Playoffs?

@ Pitt 3 INT 1 Fumble

@ PHI 1 INT 2 Fumbles

Those games were reflected in the 5 losses that are listed.

Did you think they were not?

Comparing 20 starts on the road to 81...

Comparing a QB who consistently chokes in December and in the playoffs to one of the most "clutch" QBs of all time....

Fail.

Ken,

it was a great try dude, but even I can't get on-board with your premise. The sample size is simply too small. Cut off for something like this should be at least 50 games....

If Romo sits to pee still has that road record after an additional 30 road games, even I'll be won over.

Its not a premise of mine, it is an NFL Fact.

He qualifies for the stat category and is currently in 2nd place all time since the super bowl era began.

If he wins this week on the road and then never plays another game, he will be the highest road winning percentage qb of all time.

Now, do i think he is the best, nope....but the stat is a legitimate stat.

Ummm...it is a fact, not comparing, just stating the fact that if he wins this weekend, he will be the all time road win percentage leader for qbs....he qualifies by the rules set up by the NFL.

So....

U FAIL.

Yup. What I find especially amazing is his road playoff record.

Agreed.

Unfortunately that is beyond the scope of this record as it does not include playoff games.

I'm sure their is another stat for that, but Romo sits to pee isn't in the top two all time for that....

As tr1 likes to say,

Just the facts.

And for all those saying the sample size is too small, why are you singing a different tune when it comes to playoff record? 2 games is an extremely small sample size. Many, many good players have started their playoff career 0-2, yet it is fine to criticize him on this tiny sample size.

Hypocrites.

Then how can it prove that Romo sits to pee plays big in big games, if it excludes the biggest games of them all?

Maybe I should put an asterisk by the fact that this is only for Regular Season games?

Would that be clearer? Certainly the body of evidence of his ability to win on the road would suggest he is pretty clutch, no?

Certainly his playoff won/loss record is not in the top 2 all time. I agree with that. Also you can concede that it is a small body of work to this point and thus we cannot make the same conclusions that we can after 20 road games.

Also, 1 of his playoff games were at home, so even if you add in the loss to Seattle on the road, he is still 2nd all time and may just have to win another game or two additional to reserve the 1 spot.

I believe their is a lot of collective *bbbzzzzzzzztttttt* going on this forum over this stat.....it just does not compute in the fantasy reality many have created here on es....

the reason for my objection is that a single win or a loss would significantly alter his winning %. If Dallas wins this weekend, he is ranked first. If they lose this weekend and their next road game, his winning % is signifcantly lower, based on only 2 losses.

What was teh point of this post?

Do you think Romo sits to pee is one of the all time best qb's? Do you think he plays well in big games? What is his record from Nov on?

Actually,

You are probably not gonna like that stat either as he is something like 11-1 in november games.

You *may* want to limit that to December games then.....but even at that, did all 5 of his road losses come in Dec?

hmmm.

I'll let you think of another angle before I respond officially. :cool2:

My personnal opinion is that Romo sits to pee's stats were inflated by the airbag known as TO. Now that he has been jetisoned, Romo sits to pee's number will come back down and you should relish in this stat while you can, because it will not last.

Wait. You're arguing that Romo sits to pee is a clutch QB, but it's people here that are living in a fantasy reality? Seriously?
