goflyhelo
I am still blown away some guys here want Marty.... sure, we'd win a few games here and there but we would NEVER win a playoff game. Trust me on this... that's why San Diego got rid of him.
techboy
at least the media is starting to write more and more about Vinny's ineptness ... that's a start. It's not by a member of the media. It's a blog post by some random guy on their forums. The title of this thread is seriously misleading.
4skins23
Cerrato, I don't know, the scouts YES! Zorn? no As head coach of any team, coaches will have good years and bad years. It goes back to that stability issue. I'd rather have stability than incorporate a new coach and assistants and new system, strategies, etc every year. Thats a good reason why we aren't winning. IMO, Each coach should have 5 years. In those 5 years they should be able to incorporate their system, and some players and we as fans should see some improvement. If not, then it would be time to go.

Braxford
Vinny, yes. You can fire and hire a new GM midseason and not mess with everything.Zorn, no. Give him till the end. Let your new GM eval the coaching staff. They'll all probably be gone. But who knows? Bingo bango. Nuff said.
HigSkin
On NFL Live, Schlereth just had a players perspective on firing coaches mid-season. Mind you, he's not typically in favor of it but said it puts players on notice as well. You get a whole season on film for a new coach to evaluate and you'd better be doing your job or your not going to be in the new coaches plan. Birdlives
If Dan had any guts he'd can Cerrato, make Morocco Brown or Scott Campbell GM, with the other as VP of football operations, and disappear to Potomac. There he could sign the checks and STFU and watch our team become a storied franchise once again. Unfortunately he's set his goal as being the architect of a SB winning franchise, thus we languish. SkinsFTW
Hey, this blog "article" is recommending that we rehire the guy who gave us Heath Shuler and Michael Westbrook lol... Yeah, but what about Andre Johnson? LOL. That guy played in 3 games for the Lions, never for us. First Rounder, wasn't injured either. He just blew that hard. ECU-ALUM
I agree with Buford, fire Lapdog NOW. Bring in a real GM and let him evaluate coaches and players through the rest of the season so we can move forward. I agree with both of you. RedskinDan0557
Danny has to much pressure on him NOT to make a move with Vinny. Its gonna happen. You would hope this would be the case, but rather than leave it to chance, after losing to Detroit is it time for our "Millen Man March"? The Millen Man March http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Millen "On December 6, 2005, Detroit sports talk radio station WDFN announced the "Angry Fan March" (also known as the "Millen Man March") in protest of Millen's contract extension.[22] On December 9, 2005, in protest of Millen's poor record, one Detroit Lions fan site, known as 'The Lions Fanatics,' led by owner Dan Spanos organized an "orange out" event, which encouraged Lions fans to show up at Detroit's Ford Field clad in hunter's orange,[23] the color of their opponent that week, the Cincinnati Bengals. On December 24, 2006 another group of fans, lead by Herbert Nicholl Jr. planned a walkout protest towards the end of the first half in the game against Chicago, to express their disgust with the current management.[24] [25]" I think the sentiment is extremely prevalent amongst us fans that the front office needs a major overhaul (namely Vinny needs to be fired.) With such an expansive, die-hard fan base, surely more can be accomplished than just venting on a website. I say it's time for a movement. Maybe I take this a little too seriously, but I don't think the Redskins' great legacy should continue to be so tarnished by mismanagement. Synder's here to stay for now, but maybe Cerrato doesn't have to be. If we fans come together in united action, perhaps Synder will finally be compelled to dismiss Vinny and bring in a real GM. So, how to we turn our passion into meaningful action: 1. We need a slogan (every good cause has one), for instance "Sack VC! Restore the Legacy!" 2. We need signs, t-shirts a way to get the message out. 3. We people to bring their signs, t-shirts, etc. to games so there's a chance that the message is displayed during upcoming television coverage. 4. We need take additional action (peaceful and unified) that will draw attention to the cause. 5. We need to find a way to get interviews to further promote the cause. 6. We need to create a Powerpoint presentation that further makes the case for canning Cerrato (citing recent examples of quick turnarounds in franchises due to overhauling the front office) and the presentation should also provide examples of alternative options for GM - because management never likes it when you tear something down without offering an alternative. So, who's with me? Sack VC! Restore the Legacy!

RabidFan
We can keep Vinny as a VP(ala Pepper Rogers) and still hire a GM for all personnel decisions...this would be a save and win win for Danny and save Vinnie....though its his first year as a sole GM so I doubt Danny gives up after 1 year. nonniey
Cerrato isn't going anywhere. What the writer missed is that Cerrato is only the front man and Danny is the actual GM. So Danny would have to fire himself in order to get a GM. Anyone think that is even an outside possibility?

At best, Snyder and Cerrato are co-GM's, and there's a strong possibility that Cerrato is the voice of reason in this duo - the guy who talks Snyder out of offering another contract to Jeff George. . Thirtyfive2seven
You can't fire Zorn now. To do so Snyder would have to face the 'nation' again and say he ****ed up. It ain't going to happen. Neither is firing Vinny. A respectable coach is going to come in and say we have average talent, at best and it's true so why would a coach agree to keep Vinny around. It's a no win situation. Danny is NOT going to hire a GM and therefore a GM is NOT going to hire a coach therefore we as fans are ****ed.
mw11385
I am not aware of a situation in which the head coach hired the GM... usually it is the other way around, right? Vinny seems to be beyond accountability. We don't need director of personnel, we need a football tyrant. Danny boy will NEVER cede that much authority, will he? Not for nothin': I'll let him kick my ass at racquetball so he won't miss Vinny so much...
