I'd really like to know exactly what was discussed regarding the backfield situation.

Listening to The SportFix this afternoon, they were paraphrasing Smith by saying that he believes that we have no speed in the backfield which in turns in the absolute truth. But, what exactly are they planning to do about it?

Did Portis contend to this fact on the John Thompson show yesterday?

I don't know but we were 8th in rushing last year and are now ranked 24th. Something is going on.

I do think our O-line is partly to blame.

Our front office seems to think that guys with big names that were good 5 years ago would still carry the same production today... sorry, that might be a tangent.

He simply stated what everyone already knew... don't what's surprising about this. He was talking about how we don't have the break-away speed in the backfield, and that it's just who we are. He said it's the same situation like when he was with Tennessee and Eddie George was the featured back.

We all knew that and it's why we picked up Dorsey and Alridge in the offseason to try to change that. Why is this shocking, again?

NO RB is GOING TO BREAK ANYTHING IN THIS OFFENSE....way too predictable and conservative..8men in the box all the time...WE need more playmakers touching the ball..Kelly,DT,Marko,Davis..to go along with the more consistant players CP,Cooley,

Moss(will be consistant if the young guys are making plays)

Zorn or JC has to find a better way of getting the young guys the ball! This will open up the run game and CP will look like CP again

How can any RB on this team get any yardage when Raubach consistently gets pushed back into the play. The middle of the line is where the problem is plus they know what we are going to do before we do it. We are predictable. Like 21forlyfe said we need the young guys to make some plays in the passing game to loosen up the running lanes. Eight men in the box and no one afraid of Jason Campbell beating them is the problem. Get some passes to Kelly, Davis, Cooley, Moss, Mitchell, and Thomas on a consistent basis and they will respect our passing game which will open up the running lanes. Otherwise we will have thje same results as before. Mediocre, predictable and stagnant offense. GET SOME EXCITEMENT AND IMAGINATION IN THE OFFENSE ZORN!

It's not surprising Submitted which is why it is bothersome when nothing has been done to resolve this issue during gametime.
