I think the problem will mainly come when they discuss things that shouldn't be discussed. How long will it take for player X to say "Man, we worked on this sweet play in practice today, and it went like this...." and then have that play blow up in their face the next game?

Okay, so there was no problem with a collegiate player calling his coach out on Twitter...but if he gives out disguises and plays for the next game, it's a problem?

That's the problem. Respect. Respect for authority. It's gone, and authority has lost the ability to do anything about it. There's your problem. Not just college. All the way down to middle school.

Yes, I think coaches should be able to ban whatever they think might be detrimental to a player's or the team's performance or is in some other way detrimental to the team.

There is a lot of stuff on different college teams that's banned, I think facebook and twittbrain should not be barred from the potential ban-list. An athlete doesn't like the rules, then they don't have to be a part of the team. :ciao:

Well in my mind that's where the college must establish some type of disciplinary measure on the topic. A coach could ban all those things, but if a star player violates the rule vs. some random backup, the coach will institute different punishments (yes, I realize the school probably will do, but they're supposed to be impartial and not play favorites, even if we all know they do/would).

In theory, the coach's word would be the final say on the matter, but in reality, he has far less control than he would like.
