fuji869
As you all know our beloved Redskins have only scored 40 points in 3 games this season and have not scored 20 points in any games so far in 2009. Here are some more miserable numbers. After winning 26-24 in Dallas and 23-17 in Philadelphia last seson the Redskins have only scored 20 or more points 3 of the last 14 games. 25-17 W @ Detriot 20-17 W @ Seattle 24-27 L @ San Francisco The last time the Redskins scored more that 30 points in a game was 32-21 win @ Minnesota in Week 16 of the 2007 Season. Enough to make you sick to your stomach!

skinfan2k
Do you guys think that Blache can't blitz with the personnel because he knows the offense wont give him more than 1 TD unlike the preseason where games didn't count

holmester
Another problem is we can't get a decent lead. We haven't won by more than eight points since 2007. That is terrible. You would think that we would have atleast one Sunday in that span where we just have a lucky day and get a undeserved blowout. But no.
20April1980
One of the last times we scored 20 points was the last time we rushed for over a 100 yards. We have not had a 100 yard rusher since Seattle last year. CP has not had more than 80 We are now 24th in rushing
deejaydana
You know what's sad? I didn't watch this past weekend's game (because I'm on the West Coast and it wasn't televised) and when I saw them flash the score of 13-0 I actually thought to myself "It's going to be hard for this offense to crawl out of a hole that big" Yeah, sad. I'm conditioned now to expect little to no scoring from our squad.
Gregpeck99
Skins have a back-up for a QB, spent a ton to sign Haynesworth and Hall, and drafted "Orakpo the invisible" No. 1 ... what do you expect?

Our qb is ranked 9th or better in every stat. Our passing game is ranked 11th We have not had a 100 yard rusher in 12 games. And are currently ranked 24th rushing. We have no running game. All of our offense has been through the passing game. Why all this anger at the qb and not the running game? Maybe our RB is a back up now. I know it would be nice to have a 100 yard rusher and a rushing td. We couldn't get 1 yard on the goal line last week and a yard to win the game the week before. None of that matters?
A turnover would be nice every once in a whileOur D doesn't get sacks or turnovers, and that helps us score also I believe Sacks & turnovers would help the offense score, but our D doesn't get sacks or turnovers because Blache can't be aggressive with his schemes and play calls because the offense can't do anything. It's one big vicious cycle.

Oddly "Orapko the invisible" has more sacks this year than ALL milennium Demarcus Ware of the Boyz....and playing part time as a DE....fancy that

None of that matters? You are obviously correct about the rushing game. I worry about Portis's overall health. He's been ridden hard for a long while, even though he is a young back. On the other hand, I wouldn't let the passing game off the hook. The Skins played from behind for all of the Giants and Lions games, which accounts for the lower rushing yardage and the higher passing stats. Looking at the first half stats for all of the games, JCs stats are: Giant 113 yds 67 rating Rams 148 yds, 80 rating Lions 101 yds, 86 rating So JC's 92.5 rating is partly because of garbage time in the Giants and Lions games and partly because of the really bad defenses he's faced in two of the games. It's pretty hard to find an offensive bright spot.
str8jacket
Another problem is we can't get a decent lead. We haven't won by more than eight points since 2007. Great point Mark. And not being able to get a lead persuades us not to run the ball quite as much resulting in losing the time of possession battle and wearing down opposing defenses. As well as for as long i have been a Skins fan when we have quality teams its all about running the ball. Thats what this team has always been when we are winning. Very telling. However, Portis is not the kind of running back that will make something from nothing. Not anymore. He's also not the type of running back that will take it to the house once he finds an opening. wildbill1952
No running game. Can't run to the rightside. ROT and center are being pushed into the backfield by anyone they face. Can't push the pile. Can't score on first and goal from one yard. When the Skins finished 2-6 last year the coaches and management said the problem was the OL. The only thing they changed was to put a revolving door at right tackle and they got lucky upgrading one guard. No draft picks. No free agents worth spit on the OL. Tried to go cheap on OL - again. It's like troubleshooting your car. You see you need a new engine and maybe one new tire. And you choose to put in a new radio. Dumb, just dumb. It's pretty hard to find an offensive bright spot. We have no rush game, can't even get 1 yard in 4th and 1 to win a game or to score, no rush tds!!!! and no 100 yard rusher in 12 weeks. We are 1-2. This is not about finding a offensive bright spot. It is figuring out why we are struggling on offense. The only thing working is the pass game. When you lose or 1-2 no one is off the hook. But when you have people calling for your QB's head when we have seen absolutely no running game, can't score from the 1 on the ground. I understand your point but it misses my original point. Lets figure out why the running game is not working. It could only help our 11th ranked passing offense.

Yup bench Campbell when the passing game is 11th in the league. Why do we have RB's on the roster? We have not had a 100 yard rusher in 12 games. Almost a full season!!!!! We can't even score from the goal line, we have 0 rushing td's!!!!! Yeah lets forget that our rush offense is 24th, almost dead last. Lets blame the QB!!! str8jacket
I agree and all the talk about drafting a qb #1. I say no way. Yeah a franchise qb can do alot but not if they have no line. It took the colts getting peyton manning a line before he was good. I always like to use orlando pace as an example. I remember how bad the rams were then they got pace and that single move set them up to go to the super bowls and be successful. Because of him allowed faulk to run, and warner time to throw. And just look at when he declined is directly corralated to their decline as a team. Bulger now has no time to throw and jackson isnt nowhere near as dominating as when pace was up front. We need to find that franchise o lineman that can set up the run for years to come. Thats Redskins football.
Mark The Homer
And that was Todd Collins, ...You're right! In fact, those last three games in 2007, the Redskins won EACH of those games by MORE than ten points with Collins at the helm. The game before that, the game Collins came in off the bench cold, was only an eight point win. Makes you wonder...
