fire5man80
I think that the title of the thread is misrepresenting the OP's message. I may be wrong though, its know to happen from time to time. I just think he's saying that we need a player out there like ST. ST did bring an intesity onto the field. He was only 1 player, but he was a leader out there. I just think the D would have a different character out on the field. I dont necessarily think they would of been a better team, but his intesity and the fear he charged in people definately made opponents think twice. Who's scaring them like that now???? He would not make us a winner by himself, but with him in there a lot of attitudes would be different on the Skins and their opponents. I'd like to believe we would be a hell of a lot better D with him back there.
KNGwithOUTaCrwN
i agree with those that have said that te d isnt the same. it really isnt. ST was such a big playmaker and we all miss him. and like someonesaid i was really disappointd willaims wasbt maflde HC. zorn is doing nothig. we started 6-2 last year butZorn has chabged things, but it was def better before. im not liking zorn rght now, he really has no clue what to do and it hurtz the team so much. i am prob gonna be wearig o e of my ST shirtz when i head to te game this wek. mAshparie36
funny, i was thinking about making a thread about this last night but didnt wanna hear all the "let it go", "it's the past", nonsense all over. however, it's completely true. CJ wouldn't have had the game he did if ST was out there. I can always remember that when we are sucking and everything is going downhill, he was always making plays and getting us back in the game. Whether they were big hits or stripping balls, he was doing it. damn, i miss him
NOLASKINSFAN
man, if you think ST would of changed this team, you have another thing coming. Let the guy rest. +1 he was an above average safety ... RIP

Now don't take it the wrong way, ST was gonna be a great safety for years, but this defense struggled at times even with ST.
Skin'Em84
I think the OP means we need that guy to bring the fire. Taylor was a great player, he was a great leader on the field, he had a greater impact in the locker room. We need that leader in the locker room. We don't seem to have it. joe16729
Man the other day maybe it was the rams games the announcers where talking about the new defence with the addition of haynesworth and orakpo sayn the D should be better than the previous ranking of #4 in the NFL.. I was thinking where would we be if 21 was still here?????? I could only imagine...
Sticksboi05
Seriously? The heart left with Gibbs. Gibbs always gave his players his trust. And he was a 3 time SB winning coach so you had to respect him.

Sticksboi05
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. "above average"? From a skins fan? at least SOME of us remember sean taylor He was great but not perfect by any means. Plenty of games where he made bad plays. But we need someone to get that locker room pumped. You figure it'd be Fletcher. Sorry for those of you with homer goggles on but Ed Reed has been the best safety in the league since he arrived and Sean did not take that from him. He's up there for the most talented player I've seen but sorry he does not beat Barry Sanders.
21forlyfe
man, if you think ST would of changed this team, you have another thing coming. Let the guy rest. Definitly changes the defense without a doubt!...You put ST Back there...The deep Ball doesn't exsist..Wr 's dont catch alot of passes across the middle..if they do its at their own risk If not St damn sure Landry was going to knock your head off...Do you think Hanyesworth and ST on the Same Playing feild? would nt be fair Smoot said it best

aar_21
there are so few players in this league that play great and radiate energy and passion... Polamalu, Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, etc. We had one of those guys in 21, and now we're just a bland, vanilla, piece of **** team like the rest... Whats the point of saying he isnt perfect?(everyone knows that) No Player is.......I have read nothing about ST being Perfect on here not one..Most Fans are dead on when talking about ST..Youre Insane or know nothing about football if you think that ST would'nt help contribute to this teams success..and if you agree, you are saying what every one else is saying..so give it a rest.. No Player or Nfl Coach Would call ST a average player no one...They say Great ...you would think the man would get the same amount of respect from his own Redskins fans:doh: yes,you are right there is no player like B Sanders:D
kingdaddy
When Taylor died my initial thoughts were that it would take the Skins 10 years to recover from his loss on the field. His presence made receivers nervous. Landry is nothing like Taylor was.
Brunell_2_Moss=TD
first off i find it horrific that any redskins fan would call sean taylor above average thats ****ing rediculous any football fan would tell u that he was at the time of his death one of the premier defensive backs in the league **** the leading ints big ****ing deal the fact of the matter is when a play needed to be made he made it u can count on one hand how many times sean taylor got beat by a man that he was responsible for most of the time u saw sean chasing someone from behind down the field it wasnt his man if anyone saw the ravens game i believe it was last week when the other team was 3rd or 4th and 1 and who blasted through the line to make the play yes ray lewis y because he is a premier line backer and when a play needs to be made he makes it how many times did we win a game because of sean or how many times did sean make a game saving tackle if anyone would know its me every day something reminds me of this man look at my older post they are all about him as a young redskins fan to see dc faithful talk about my role model my hero like this im disgusted the tampa bay game the eagles game the dallas game think back u ****ing morons you know nothing about great players at all sean brought excitement to our defense when plays were made he was running ip to his teamates congradulating them and pushing them constantly u saw him on the sidelines talking to 4th string players the defense was alive and showed emotion he took landry under his wing opposing teams built their gameplans and strategies around taylor "he played the game with so much passion you could really see he loved what he was doing" where is that passion now i wish to god every day to be a football star one day and play for the redskins and the players on the team now were once just like me and theyve forgotten that sean he didnt "he just kind of hoped and wished and prayed that maybe one day he get a shot and he was thankful to have that oppertunity with the redskins" the players now arent thankful if i was a skins player id run out that tunnel every sunday and look to the sky and take a knee and pray to sean to put a tenth of his passion in me because they have none youd think seeing his name in the rafters wud say someting to them but no every day i find myself in the same position talking about sean i wake up every morning to sean on my walls i never met the man and look how he inspired me now think to yourselves what he could do to someone out on that field or in that locker room before you go and say sean wouldnt make a difference
ChampSkinsFanatic
Ever since he died, when you watch games, you just ask "Where is the Sean Taylor on this team" who is gonna step up and change the game!? We have nobody like that.
MumboSauce
I know if you have nothing nice to say you should just not click on the link, or reply. But, why keep going here? It can't happen, won't happen, and we have to get better with who we have or who we bring in next. We all miss the heck out of Sean and what he was to this team, his family misses him more. But why keep going here, it's sad enough.
aussieskin
The one thing that Sean did bring to the defence was confidence in the other defenders, and for some reason that has all gone with his passing, we need someone to start leading on both sides of the ball, we dont have it on defence and i have yet to see anyone take up the mantle on the Offence, well maybe Cooley, but we need someone to start reading the riot act to players who make stupid mistakes giving up stupid 5 yard penalties, for crying out loud all you gotta do is wait for the ball to move before they do, how hard is that. I do believe that someone like john madden not necessarily him, to take over the evaluation of prospective players, and Mr Snyder be told to sit down shut up and pay the bills. I am convinced that Zorn is not ready to be a HC in the NFL at the moment, but who should be is a decision that has plenty of possibilities and the skins need to arrange some system for hiring a HC not just danny or anyone else saying yes he will do, cos present situation shows that it doesnt work

I think we have a new world's record for longest run-on sentence. Seriously man, I respect your opinion, but you can't expect anyone to actually read that. Sean is my second-fave Redskin of all time (D. Green #1) but I really don't get how people say he was the best safety of all time. He was never even the best safety in the league when he was here. Don't get me wrong, he was on the short list, but yeah, I've got to agree Ed Reed stands alone. Of course when a tradgedy happens, people tend to remember just the good things. I get that. But this nonsense about how Sean Taylor never made any mistakes and was the greatest is a serious exaggeration. I saw No. 21 get trucked and get burnt for TD passes (The Crayton TD against Dallas being a prime example). That being said, I miss ST too. His and Green's jerseys are the only ones I own and will ever need to own.
112row2
Somehow the title of this thread was changed...I originally titled it "the missing ingredient" My point in keeping the Taylor pic there is that he was making a pic against the Lions in his rookie year (36).. More importantly...who is going to step up and bring the characteristics that 21, 53, and 24 brought (intangibles) and made an otherwise mediocre team Playoff Calibre? I dont have an answer on this roster...yet..
