jonjeff Posted March 1, 2002 Share Posted March 1, 2002 I see the Ravens have just released Elvis Grbac, and Sam Adams. Adams was the one defensive lineman that I would hope the Skins would persue. Adams and Big Daddy would be quite a roadblock to the oppositions running attack. Lang will price himself out of Washington just as Barber has. Adams would be a great pickup if the money is right. Adams will likely be the top DT in free agency, perhaps after Grady Jackson, and should garner a huge contract. He made the pro-bowl last year on reputation true, but he was playing on a bad hamstring most of the year. The great thing is it only averages out to a little over 1 Mil per season, and he is a great locker room leader. Hell the average starter in the NFL at any position now, makes 1 Mil. Shawn Barber couldnt carry Jesse's jockstrap and he aint worth no 5 Mil signing bonus. The Jesse Armstead deal didnt break the bank. By comparison look at the ridiculous signing San Diego made with Tim Dwight. They paid him a 5 Mil signing bonus, and 15 Mil over 5 years. He is only a kick returner and isnt even a #2 receiver. I think he caught about 25 balls last year. We only paid Armstead 4.5 Mil TOTAL! <img border="0" title="" alt="[smile]" src="smile.gif" /> So now we got the WSLB filled, we got money left over to sign someone else. Sure, Dalton is a bit younger, but Adams will definitely want to come and reunite with his defensive coordinator. I'm sure Marvin would love to have him too. It's probable, in my opinion.
