Ah but why did the Giants win the Superbowl and why are they a great team?

Because they draft defensive line....and then they play their defensive ends as..guess what....DEFENSIVE ENDS. They don't draft defensive ends and try to force them to cover downfield as cornerbacks do. They don't draft 277 pound defensive ends who are 6'3 and try to get them to gain weight into 280 so they can stop the run. They draft 6'3 guys and get them to 263 so they can get around an all pro tackle and knock the ball out of the QB's hand.

The Giants organization begins with intelligence at the top because they know how to hire a real coach who understands football in the NFL.

The Giants are good, but they aren't the same team they were two years ago, or even last year when we played them. The fact is, the Redskins have historically had a hard time winning in the Meadowlands. It's just one of those monkeys we haven't been able to shake off our back. Thankfully, after this year, we can kiss that particular stadium - and its bad ju-ju - goodybe.

Hopefully, this game was a cold shower and a wake call. The D was too full of itself expecting to be world beaters and just get their heads handed to them. They were there, but they didn't tackle. They weren't there too much of the time. This D clearly needed a lot of humble pie.

It's easy to say the fake FG skewed the game, same could be said for Osi's td...bottom line is when 2 teams line up and they have similar talent (news falsh the Skins have plenty of talent! and I'm not just talking about the Cheerleaders!) it comes down to making plays. The Giants made more than the Skins yesterday and that's the outcome.

I was impressed that Jason had all day to throw, the fumble was squarely on him, and pressure was not a huge factor. I agree play calling killed this game...the end around, the screen in the redzone, etc... I still believe this team can win a bunch of games this year and make the playoffs....as the Eagles and Cardinals proved last year once you are in anything can happen.

I agree with you, but I think part of it is Blache's playcalling. It's not aggressive enough. I mean, we're pretty much lining up with four safeties as much cushion as the receivers are getting. The Giants had a few fast ones, but they're all smaller guys that could be knocked around very easily. Just give them safety help over the top and have Landry knock someone's teeth out if he comes into his zone. That's how he handled Burress. I'd love to see what Gregg Williams would have done with this group of guys.

Why do people continue to make excuses for this team? The Giants are good team. They aren't great. The redskins just suck!!! How many more years of this same garbage do we have to have before some off you realize that things haven't change and it's the same ol washington redskins of the past 20 years. A mediocre team at best. We have to rely on luck and trick plays to even keep us in these games. Open your eyes people!

The play calling was horrid today. How many plays did we have the first quarter? 4? All of which were runs? Of the first 7 plays called 6 of them were runs. When Zorn actually started to call pass plays and open the offense up a bit we started to move the ball.

Well, in order for the offense to get on the field, the defense has to get off. They didn't allow many points, but their 3rd-down rate was horrible yesterday.

Wrong. The Giants moved Kiwanuka from DE to SSLB. This Orakpo to SSLB thing is straight out of the Giants' playbook.

The two matchups we needed to win in order to win the game was our recievers against their thin secondary, and our secondary against their unproven recievers. Going into the game we should have had a huge advantage on each of these matchups, but we lost both of those matchups and subsequently lost the game. They made the plays and we didnt.

I have to agree with many that the Giants are a good team but not great. I shudder to think what a great team would have done to us yesterday with the amount of possession they had in the first half. The result was a combination of several factors though, mainly the Skins own doing.

Let's just face facts here, the Skins are okay, but not much more. They lack leadership on offence and there are very few signs of confidence in Campbell. The pressure looks like it has got to him, either this is due to the QB rumblings during off season, his contract being up after this year etc or whatever I don't know, but either way when he lines up he looks scared half to death, you can see it in his eyes. Not good.

One interesting thing was when Zorn blew up (I think after the botched ARE play) the tv stated that Zorn screamed at someone and then composed himself and spoke more calmly to Campbell.... the cotton wool treatment goes on....

I'm not bashing Campbell, although he has to take some responsibility for the loss and some bad decisions but our lack of leadership and productivity on offense made the difference. The Giants are good, but not great. Sadly we are neither at the moment.

NOOOOOO!

I can't take anymore change!

Can't take anymore 7-9 to 8-8.

What is the worst possible thing that could happen with change?

Any losers in the organization get weeded out, and we go 2-14?

Then we get the top draft pick. Could be worse.

We lost to a great team? We lost by 6 points and our offense couldn't have looked more like ass. A great team? We beat ourselves once again with predictable playcalling and poor QB play....and we only lost by 6 points? Dude, the Giants are above average, that's it.

Stop making excuses for the lack of heart and intelligence this team played with.

I would looove a 2-14 season. That would get us a top QB prospect and a whole regime change. Danny would have no choice but to get rid of Campbell, Zorn, Blache, and Vinny, and start over from scratch. Which is exactly what we need.

I'm not making excuses for anything. I'm just saying people are getting a bit extreme after 1 road loss to a solid team.

Teams open seasons like this every year and end up making the playoffs. I'm not betting on that to happen but people are ending the season already, which is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah, but this was because Kiwanuka had a HOF DE and a Pro-bowl DE ahead of him on the depth chart. That was about getting the best players on the field. Do you really believe Phillip Daniels is better than Orakpo?

We thought they'd have no receiving options, but they found some. This is a very well run team and they have been doing a good job of finding talent and utilizing it well for a while now.

Damn....how long will it be until anyone can say this about US???????

Ugh...I get the fact that the Giants are at least a good team and maybe a great team, and I even get the fact that we somehow managed to hang around the whole game to be in it until the end...but that was a depressing loss to watch...all my homerism and optimism that still EXPECTED a loss in week 1 but to be at least 4-2 or 5-1 through week 6 is feeling awfully a lot more like we're going to be 3-3 at best...the play calling was just awful, I can't even remember the last time we made a first down on 1st or 2nd down...
