Ghost of
I think you guys are on the wrong guy. At least with Brunell, Moss was guaranteed some WELL-DESIGNED screen plays and Brunell threw deep to Moss and trusted himself to throw to the sidelines. The reason Cooley and ARE rack up yards in the middle of the field is because that's all Campbell sees or trusts. It's kind of why Brunell always made our second wideout disappear or why Campbell made McCardell and others disappear in 2007. They rely on one or two guys because inferior QBs do that, especially ones that can't see some part of the field. So we could have Jerry Rice out there, it wouldn't matter. ARt Monk, Jerry Rice and ARE in the slot and Cooley at TE. With campbell at QB, ARE and Cooley would still rack up yards. ARt Monk and Rice would languish with a combined 80 catches at best. At least Collins used everyone.
Laxpunk2006
Moss may or may not be a #1 type reciever but we can't go overboard from one game. Some other #1 reciever stats from the day. Braylon Edwards 1 catch 12 yards, Andre Johnson 4 catches 35 yards, Larry Fitz 5 for 46 and a td, Desean Jackson 2 for 9, Roddy White 5 for 42. Not all terrible performances but sometimes guys are gameplanned for and taken out. Corey Webster was on fire today. We're attempting to develop some other recievers to compliment Moss. It would be great if we could get a more complete guy to be our #1 but he's all we got.
addicted
The problem with Moss is that he needs someone to step up. If he's being covered like he was today then the #2 WR must become the goto guy. Our playcalling never did that today with Kelly. I'm not sure who's at fault there. Was it Campbell or was it Zorn? All I know is Jason went from his number 1 to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th options and left Kelly out of it. Why didn't we look to Kelly more? Why didn't we stretch the field more with long passes to Thomas or Kelly? When Moss was shut down we needed to make other plans and that to me is to use Kelly more but it never happened or looked like the adjustments were made
Skins24
Still nothing out of Kelly or Thomas.. EL played nice. Can't play well if you're not even looked at.... What Nibbs said...

Main-Maine
Where was Kelly. All I saw was Campbell throwing to Moss, A.R.E. and Cooley the whole game. In fact this is a recipe for failure. This is why we lost last year. Why do it again.Zorn cannot learn. He is incapable of learning because we are seeing the same mistakes and same formula. Like Clinton Portis running into the line left....2 yards. Next play Clinton Portis running into the line right. 2 yards. Zorn is incapable of learning. :hysterical: lmfao so damn true. kmast000
Moss is not a number one. The only receiver his size that is a true number one is Steve Smith(Carolina's Steve Smith) and Moss is no Steve Smith. Kelly and Thomas are clearly not the answer so I expect Washington to draft another WR next year or trade for someone like Boldin or maybe even Brandon Marshall. You can't say Kelly, Thomas or Mitchel are not the answer. They don't put them out there to play. Every other team is putting out there rookies to play and yet our coaching staff just leaves these guys on the sideline and says there not ready. Im ready to start Kelly, Thomas or Motchel and moss in the slot. It's the change we need.
Branephood
Bottom line is Moss is not a #1 receiver and he really needs to do his homework on who he starts swinging at before he gets his butt handed to him on national tv again. Don't you get tossed for throwing punches? I thought he was very fortunate not to get ejected...

kterp
You have to use the other receivers and the run to open Moss up.

I agree with you 100% but Kelly played bad today..On our drive coming out of halftime..Portis ran on second down and was stopped short two yrds..we didnt convert on third down...if you look at the great run by CP you will see that the reason why he was stop short was beacuse Kelly didnt do **** on that play! he didnt even touch the guy!!..dont get me wrong i like Kelly..i just cant make excuses for lack of effort:doh:i look for Kelly to make up for his poor preformance nxet game..hopefully he will go back and look at himself on film and realize how huge that block could have been for us

NoCalMike
As good as Randel El was in the slot, I wonder if Moss would be even better.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Jackass should of been thrown out of the game. The official looking straight at him during the whole incident was VERY lenient. Hail.
theboomking
Moss had more yards in penalties than receiving yards today. That INT was on Moss, and not Campbell. I hope Moss gets the locker room shalacking he deserves. I would pay to see him locked in a room with Mike Singletary for a "come to Jesus" talk. Our Miami guys are letting us down now. More attidude than production.
C26 Run
I don't know but you can clearly see that Moss took himself mentally out the game. :helmet:

frankez99
Top ten Redskins myths: 1. Moss is a bonafide #1 2. Clinton has NOT lost a step 3. Landry is a top 10 Safety Get used to it.
Heisenberg
Moss has never been a true #1 and it's always been funny to hear other fans act like he is a true #1. Sure, he is talented enough to put up big numbers every now and again but it's also been fairly common for good defenses to get in his head, frustrate him, and take him completely out of the game. Brandon Lloyd Christmas
moss is a huge deep threat/big play guy. our QB is incapable of making big/deep play type plays, so he will continue to be weak here. if anybody remembers 05 when brunell could still upchuck down the field, moss was maybe the best receiver that season. campbell cant throw deep, he proved it again tonight. its a shame we have so much talent going to waste on this team with campbell pretending hes a QB. Switchgear
I wonder if maybe Moss reveals his routes before the snap. Whoever the DB was covering him yesterday isn't that good. He knew or at least had a good idea what route Santana was going to run. I don't know if they look at that sort of thing out at Redskins Park, but I hope so.
