Tom [Giants fan]
Dolphins | Bowens Suffers Torn ACL - from www.KFFL.com Sat, 5 Jul 2003 08:39:34 -0700 ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Miami Dolphins DE David Bowens (ACL) suffered a torn ACL in his knee during a freak accident, which resulted when he jumped down off a ladder after changing a light bulb in his home. Landing awkwardly, Bowens twisted coming down and the injury was created. In a best-case scenario, he'll miss the first three months of the season. However, it's more than likely that his 2003 season is over before it has begun.
Brave
Ouch!! Tough break there. They'll have to start writing it in the contracts that the team will provide someone to change lightbulbs when a ladder is necessary.

DeathByLinebacker
When I first saw the article I thought it was Tim Bowens. That would have been a huge loss for them, but David Bowens isn't nearly as costly.
GrimReaper21
we used to have bowens, and he barely played, but since last year espn has been making him sound great.
Bang
How many Miami Dolphins does it take to change a lightbulb? 4.. 1 to do it, and 3 to pick his broken ass up off the floor. ~Bang
glorydays
So far (and I hope it continues) we seem to make the right move, while the team we got a player from or one that thought they beat us to the punch, have an unfortunate event with their player. Last year we survived with about 5 of those moves, while already we have benefitted from about 4 already. The Jets, Dolphins, have been on the short end. Ford
does miami have the depth on their d-line to deal with this kind of a loss? if not they might regret letting Haley go

SPare
No, as funny as it gets is busting your ACL while walking down stairs at home. But we wouldn't know about that kind of thing, would we....
