NFC Championship Game

Harry Kalas' voice, the lights at RFK Stadium, the tight spiral caught perfectly by the NFL Films crew - what a great video.

Anyone else gonna watch the Alliance of American Football following Super Bowl Sunday? I think I may find a place to sit down and give it a watch. Shame there aren't any teams in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast but I like the league's, apparent, commitment to player safety and I love the idea of no TV time outs (the NFL's bloated run-times are ghastly and one of the reasons I've been watching less of it).

Cowboys out.  Eagles  out.  Great weekend!!!!  How did you all celebrate?  I wanted to have toast one but I'm not drinking these days due to my new years resolution.

I'm starting to think a team should be able to protect players on their practice squad by getting right of first refusal when someone tries to poach them.

Simmie cobbs is a good example, we were allowed to make him the same offer but of course he wanted to go to the saints, they're a much better team with a much better quarterback.

But why should the lesser teams be used as a partial farm system for the better teams?

Its pretty obvious that the saints never intended to play him this year and he was just put on i.r. without ever having played a snap.

Once players pick a team and coaching and resources are put into that player the team should have the ability to keep that player by activating him to the active roster if they choose to.

My opinion anyway.

Or we could...I don't know...put him on our active roster ourselves.

Its not like we had The Posse at WR out there.

Yes and I'm sure we would have but when somebody decided they wanted him we no longer had that choice.

All I'm saying is that I think teams should be allowed to protect their practice squad beyond just paying a little more and offering the same opportunity.

Otherwise it's an advantage to good teams because players are more likely to want to play for good teams.

I'll bet anything if simmie cobbs was on new Orleans practice squad and we tried to poach him that he would have decided to stay with them on their active roster.

Just seems like an advantage that should be negated, but then again practice squad players are free to choose any team they want so the advantage is already there.

Just sucks to spend a lot of resources on a player and then have them walk when we want them to stay.

Big ol fat bong rips...I've cut down drastically on drinking... Worked on laundry and got the kids mentally prepped for the school week.. thank goodness for a saints win they were starting to scare me there for a minute..I thought for sure I would have to ban watching another Super Bowl with it being the eagles Patriots... Now let's keep our fingers crossed we could see a saints chiefs Super Bowl

As happy as I am the Eagles are out of the playoffs, I can't help but wonder: have the Eagles become the anti-'Skins over the past 20 years?

-Jeff Lurie seems to be one of the most respected and least problematic owners in the league

-Since he bought the team in 1994, The team's successfully rebuilt not once but twice (once after the disastrous Ray Rhodes era and again after "The Chip Kelly Experience" imploded)

-That's translated into nearly 20 years of sustained success in which they've only finished under .500 three times and have gone to two Super Bowls (winning one)

-From what I can tell, they actively and successfully engage their fanbase and make their gameday experience an good one - even encouraging them to take the Broad Street Line to the Linc (I can't tell you how many times I saw their mascot on SEPTA's Instagram page)

The 'Skins, on the other hand, have done the complete opposite over the past 25 years. I can't bring myself to ever cheer for a Philadelphia based team but as an organization, it's hard not to respect what the Eagles have been able to do over that span and it's really frustrating my hometown team cannot manage to take a step without finding new and exciting ways to alienate their fans and their community.

They were until those losers put a trophy in their case.

They barely made the playoffs this year and they are about to enter cap hell with a lot of holes to fill.  They will be no better than .500 next year.

Anti skins?  They've become the Vinny Ceroto skins.  Hell, look at their FA Class: Mike Wallace?  Haloti Ngata?  Michael Bennettt? I wonder what old, big name agent they are going to persue this offseason.

You can blame goodell, and Mara and the cap penalty for that though. It messed up our chances of re-signing him

Apparently something called broccoli city is coming to FedEx Field April 26th and 27th...wouldn’t that get in the way of umm i don’t know, Redskins draft day party???? Did they not think this through? Or...do they just figure nobody’s going to come out anyway? 🤔

Is anyone else offended that Dan's going out buying new $100M yachts when his product sucks so much? Have nothing against the super rich or enjoying their money, but it just seems extremely unearned in Dan's case considering the lack of success of his franchise in the past 20 years. As much as I want the Skins to win and succeed, there'd be something sweet about watching the whole thing crumble, forcing Danny to have to sell off his toys.

So if the Pats win in two weeks, is Belichick gonna have an Infinity Gauntlet made for himself to put his six rings into?
