Officers from the Covington Police Department were called to a home on Lunsford Circle at 8:58 a.m. When they arrived they met with the homeowner who was walking Byron Christopher Jordan toward the patrol car. When they spoke with the homeowner they learned he had witnessed Jordan having sex with one of his horses. Armand M. Pacher, 64, a former insurance executive, was booked into a Miami-Dade jail on a charge of animal cruelty, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Pacher's veterinarian in Gainesville reported him to police after an office worker called him to reschedule eye surgery for the 2 ½-year-old dog and Pacher talked about sex, according to an arrest warrant. "She doesn't seem to enjoy it as much when we have sex. Maybe it's because I haven't been as energetic lately and that's why she's not enjoying it,'' he allegedly told the staffer when she asked about the dog's health, the arrest warrant said. Henry Gene Ivey, 39, has been charged with bestiality and burglary after he allegedly broke into a mobile home and had sex with the animal, the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office said. Neighbors reported seeing Ivey walking two dogs just before 8 p.m. Monday, police said. Ivey allegedly took one of the dogs into the mobile home, and neighbors heard loud noises coming from the trailer, according to the report. The first deputy at the scene went into the trailer and found Ivey having sex with the dog, police said. Whatcom County Superior Court Judge Charles Snyder sentenced Gary A. Veldhuizen, 27, to one month in the custody of the Whatcom County Jail. Veldhuizen has no prior felony convictions and was facing a standard sentencing range of one to three months in jail, according to state guidelines. A family member caught Veldhuizen having sex with the animal on May 6 and contacted Whatcom County Sheriff's deputies, who arrested Veldhuizen. Eric Steven Easley was also charged with killing or disabling livestock, which spokeswoman Lori Myles said is a felony. She added that those two charges were filed against Easley because Alabama has no specific provision in its sexual abuse laws to cover bestiality. Edward James Double, 35, and his wife, Brandy Teresa Double, 35, were jailed Tuesday on complaints of bestiality, exhibition of obscene materials to minor children, maintaining a disorderly house, possession of illegal drugs and soliciting sexual conduct with a minor. Edward Double also faces a complaint of indecent exposure. Three boys and a girl, all younger than 15, were taken from the home at 6710 NW 26 and are in state custody, Bethany Police Chief Phil Cole said. Cole said in his 20 years as a police officer in Bethany he has heard of only one other bestiality case, and that was more than a decade ago and involved a mentally ill man. “We've recovered videotape of people having sex with animals,” Cole said. “It's disgusting. And we pray that none of the kids have been molested.” The investigation started Monday when a girl staying at the house called relatives and the relatives called police. Cole said relatives of the girl in Texas called police about possible sexual abuse of the girl. The girl told her relatives she had seen a video of Brandy having sex with a dog. She said she had received e-mails from Brandy and Edward Double encouraging her to have sex with him.
