MattFancy
I'm pretty sure I've seen one before. My friends and I were coming back from the movies one night. We saw a little girl walking down my street by herself at like 2am. She was wearing all white and was holding some book up against her chest. After my friends dropped me off, they drove back up the street and she was no where to be found. I had never seen her in my neighborhood before so I doubt she lived there. She was creepy looking and kinda looked weird when we saw her. I don't know many little kids that would wonder around at 2am.
Chachie
I'll have to run a search on my ghost story, posted here in an older thread on the subject. It's too long to re-type now. I'm at work and won't have time today but I'll see if I can find it tonight.

The Brave Little Toaster Oven
A couple months ago I was walking over to my nightstand to turn off the light to go to bed. I had been thinking about memories with my father as I was brushing my teeth. As I was reaching to turn off the light, I hear a music box go off clear as day. I turn around and start looking for where it was coming from. I stepped out into the hallway and saw that no one was up, I opened my sister's door and saw them asleep. I knew exactly what it was and put my ipod in my ears and blasted music haha So I'm sitting in the bed with my ipod blasting facing the wall, and my mother comes in the room. Because I have the ipod in my ears, I cant hear her calling me, so she comes over to the bed and touches me and I jump a mile high like a little girl She asked me if I heard the music box and I told her, "ofcourse I did, why do you think im hiding?" haha The musicbox was a wedding gift given to my parents with their wedding picture, and the song was "We've Only Just Begun" by the Carpenters. It truly is unexplainable because everyone was asleep, and the music box was located on my mom's windowsill behind a big pile of books she has on her nightstand....impossible to get to. No one has touched it in years. It sounded like that, but only very slow and deliberate like someone was slowly winding it.

USS Redskins
I think I was 16 or 17 at the time and a buddy and I went to a party at a guy named Pete's house in Gaithersburg, MD. Pete's mother had died the summer before from some illness - so after a bunch of beers Pete whipped out a quija board (made by parker brothers) and said he was going to try to contact his mother. There was about 12 people there in the basement and the lights went down and he started saying stuff about his mom.. I dont believe in ghosts but all of a sudden I felt a chilling breeze and the drapes on the sliding glass door moved and then his cat screamed like it was being murdered. I am sure I knocked down several people getting out of that basement - everyone ran up the stairs and outside. The chill everyone felt & the drapes moving could have been the Air conditioner - he said it wasnt on - and someone could have stepped on the cats tail in the dark but no one fessed up to that... so, at that moment I believed in ghosts. Zguy28
I think there have been numerous threads on this already over the last few years. I know Destino and I posted in them. I've got a headache and am feeling too lazy to write it all again. Perhaps the search function will work better for some others than for me? skinsfan44
I posted about this once before, but I will tell it again. This happened shortly after my Mother-in-law passed away in 2003. In my basement of my house I have a small room in the unfinished part that is where my water heater, well pressure tank and water treatment equipment is stored. It has a light mounted on the ceiling with a pull cord to turn it off and on. I went down to the unfinished part of the basement one day and noticed the light was on in the back room. I figured I must have forgotten to turn it off the last time I was in there to service my water treatment equipment, so I turned it off and went back upstairs. A couple days later I was in the basement and the light was on again, so I asked my wife if she had been down in the basement lately and her answer was "No." I was thinking why was the light on then. I had not turned it on. Anyway, I again went down to the basement to replace my furnace filter a couple days later and to check on things and once again the light was on. Now I am starting to feel a little creepy. I told the wife and she was feeling the same way. So I told the wife to not go down to the basement for the next couple days to see what happens after I turn the light off. A couple days go by and I go to the basement and again the light was on. Neither one of us turned on the light and no one else (That we know of lol) is in our house. I was starting to freak out a little and the wife was totally freaking. We did not know what to do. So, a week later we went on our planned 3 day weekend to the beach and before I left I made sure the light was off. Three days later we get home to the smell of musty air in the house. I go down to the basement and we have 6" of standing water throughout the whole basement because our water heater leaked with no warning signs. I go into the room where the water heater is and the light is on after I know it was off. After getting all the water cleaned up along with repairing things that got damaged in the basement and a new water heater installed, we got back to normal. I went down to the basement everyday for the next couple weeks to keep checking on things and not once was the light on again. The wife and I came to the conclusion that it must have been her mother turning the light on to warn us that the water heater was going to fail. Since then not once has that light been on without one of us turning it on. Very creepy.
Vicious
Yes, It left me with one of those white steaks in my eyebrow. Sometimes people get it in their hair. It's a steak that goes down from my eyebrow through the side of my mouth, so when I grow my hair out it's actually a white line that goes straight down my face. Haha. I don't think I'd be paralyzed in fear if I saw a ghost again like I was. It just blew my mind is all.
Baculus
I decided to make a new thread to discuss this. ( i hope i dont get into trouble for doing this)Do you have a story or know of any areas that are Haunted? I will get my wife to scan some pics of my encounters and share them with the story behind them. I saw a ghost (and felt its presence) one morning when I awoke. I've also captured an EVP from the ruined church at Harper's Ferry. (No, I don't have the tape and I never transferred the sound bite; stupid me.) I'm starting to help my sister with one of her video projects, which is documenting this one ghost hunting crew in the mid-Atlantic region. http://www.researchandinvestigationoftheparanormal.org/photos I am not sure if I believe 100% in paranormal activity, but I do find the subject to be rather interesting. Capt Rich Fla
Yes I have. It's in the other thread. I walked right past one on the USS Laffe in Charleston Harbor. He was a sailor painting a door. Whe I got to the end of the hall I turned and looked back and he was gone. I went back to the door and there was no fresh paint on it. Another one was one of those Amityville dramas that played out on my sister and I and my two neices. We were literally chased out of her house by something in the attic. Windows going up and down, lights turning off and on. The dog never went up there again after that. On a slightly different thing. I believe I was protected by a guardian angel or something. Me and my brother were building a tree house and a board fell down and cracked me on the head. I was bed ridden for two days throwing up. Concusion I guess. Never went to the hospital though. When we went back to look at the board it was covered in nails. There was NO WAY that board could not have gotten me with one of those nails. I should have been killed on the spot. My head had a bump, but no blood. My father even said it was something going on with that one. I shouldn't be here, but glad I am.
ECU-ALUM
When I was living in Hawaii I was Boggie-Boarding once in an area that is known for unpredictable currents. I got out on the water and I felt myself being pulled out to sea the more I fought the further I got pulled out. I thought for sure that was it I was dead...I was so tierd and moving so far out. Then out of nowhere a guy comes paddling by on a surf board and says, "Get on your board and start kicking the next wave will get you in." I did what he said and I looked back to say, "Thank you"...and there was no one there! Not more than 10 seconds had passed he couldn't have gotten out so far that I lost sight of him. The wave came up and got me back in far enough that I could touch the bottom and walk back into shore.
I_Bleed_B&G
My dads got plenty of these type of stories where he encountered ghosts or witches when he lived in africa. ie. People who walk and run on their hands rather then feet; A motorcycle riding on top of his house and then just disappearing; people who have 1 human leg and the other some animal leg. Its kind of funny when he tells us these stories but he says they were real and so do my uncles who were there with him at the time. very scary stuff

So your saying that you saw one face to face and it left you with that white streak in your hair. You can't just say that! What happened?! I need that whole story. I've heard about the white streaks in people's hair and them seeing something paranormal. If this did happen to you that makes you either real lucky or real unlucky, pending. Oh it was kind of personal, I saw someone that had died in my immediate family. They tried to talk to me but I was freaking out and ran outside in my boxer in the dead of winter and was like "**** this" took me about fifteen minutes til I decided to go back inside, get some clothes, grab my keys and get out of there. The whiteness started appearing as the hair grew in, it looks pretty cool now, I wouldn't trade it. Also reminds me of them so I don't mind. I wish I could have a chance to go back, I wouldn't freak out! But it never happened again.
