Jito007
What's going on you all. I recently purchased a foreclosed condo. None of the appliances are usable so I'm looking to purchase all new ones. I'm pretty broke because the whole place needs to be remodeled. What's your guys experience as the best place to purchase appliances from as far price, good deals and help from staff. Thanks and Hail to the Redskins Jorge
MattFancy
Lowe's was pretty good. Just bough a washer and dryer there and the people were helpful and they price match.
zoony
Go to Home Depot first thing on Saturday morning. See what kind of scratch & dent appliances they've wheeled out into the center aisle on clearance Other than that, Sears is pretty good imo. You can save a few bucks buying the Kenmore brand, which might be exactly the same as the Whirlpool Also- I'd look at a used appliance store. Not sure if there are any in your area though. They have them around here
mardi gras skin
Sears Outlet Store. I've bought a fridge, washer, dryer, and over the range microwave there at half price. My parents got a wall oven at 80% off...a $975 oven for $195! Usually stuff is 20% to 40% off but each week they rotate out one or two appliances at 50% off. This week, I got the over the range microwave/convection oven my wife has been after.
stoney26
I build houses for a living and we have a direct account set up with GE and Whirlpool. If you really want to get a good deal, call up a sales representative from one of these companies. Tell them you are a local builder and would like to set up an account with them. Tell them you are about to start construction on x amount of houses. They wont ask for any proof and most of the time they will give you builder prices. If they call back months later wanting to know whats going on with the project just tell them things fell through. The people who deliver are a third party company so GE or WP will never know. I had my cousin try this and it worked to perfection. They didnt even call back to see what was going on and why we only ordered appliances for one house. McD5
Sears. Sears is also the best for tvs too. I was shocked at how much lower they are than the competition.
IbleedBnG83
I just bought a foreclosure and I am in a similar situation. After asking ES and doing plenty of research, I would have to say Lowes...hands down.
Skinsfan1311
Sears.Sears is also the best for tvs too. I was shocked at how much lower they are than the competition. I disagree. We just bought a dishwasher, stove and range hood. The prices were a little better at Home Depot but the service was a lot better. We recently purchased a plasma TV from NewEgg.com. It cost less,( including the 4 year in-home warranty and delivery), than the identical set at Sears. In fact, the TV was on sale at Sears, and it was still cheaper at NewEgg, including the warranty and delivery. That being said, we do own a Kenmore refrigerator that we purchased a few years ago, and we thought the the price was fair and the quality is excellent. To the OP, don't be afraid to haggle. Everything is negotiable. The worst that they can do is to say "no" Disclaimer: I'm a cheap ****. A very, very cheap ****. I research every purchase to the nth degree. Skinsfan1311
Costco is great for Flat Screens!!!!!!! Agreed, but you can still do better with on-line retailers. Many on-line retailers offer free delivery and solid in-home warranties. As long as the retailer doesn't have a brick and mortar store in MD, you won't have to pay taxes either. Do the research and know your prices before you buy. Posting this thread is a good step in the right direction.
TheLongshot
Just as a note, there was a thread about a month ago on where to buy appliances. http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=288447&highlight=Appliances I still think Sears is the best place for their range of selection. The downside is that you have to deal with their slimey salesmen and installation hasn't always gone smoothly. Lowes is #2 in my eyes just based on selection. I haven't dealt with them directly on appliances, but they did do my kitchen remodel and I was happy about that.

China
I don't consider TVs appliances. I think of appliances as things such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, etc. I agree with those that said Sears, although I always research and shop around first. Sears stores in this are have a few online retailers that they are allowed to price match. Find out which ones they are from that store and go do your price shopping. I got a brand new washer and dryer out there that had a dent that is hardly noticeable and got about $500 off. Go shop there. There is one down by Potomac Mills mall. I will be looking at prices online for major retailers and then going to sears and see what they price match. I'll also check their outlet store in Potomac Mills.
