TMK9973
Which do you like Better? Nationals Park for me... I'm a Nats fan so I know there may be biased. But I have been to 8 Major League Parks and it's not like I think Nats is the best (Petco Park in SD and AT&T park in San Fran are the best) but Nats park is a very nice park. I kept telling my son that Camden is 1 of the all time greats and that he will like it better then Nats park, but it had been 7 years since I went. We went yesterday and while I admit the area around Camden Yards is better (Although I hope Nats park will be like that one day), Nats park is better. Better sight-lines, better scoreboard, better layout, just better.... So - Who has been to both and what is your honest judgement?
Sticksboi05
Oriole Park. Not even close. The only thing better about ours is the scoreboard but the way Oriole Park overlooks the skyline and it's just a great ballpark. But Nationals Park is nice, it just needs more character. I think we have the potential to be better but we need more DC character.

Drop
I've been to both, and while Camden is one of the nicest in the league, National's Park's newness and overall appeal have it beat. Nat's Park is a helluva place to go just to drink, let alone watch a baseball game. lol
The Brave Little Toaster Oven
The BullPen outside Nats stadium is a great touch... has anyone tried the RoughRider's BBQ? It smells so good.
MattFancy
Oriole Park hands down! The nicest ballpark in MLB, hardly a bad seat in there, great ticket prices, great food, great atmosphere. When you walk into Camden Yards it just screams baseball. The smell of Boogs and beer is the official smell of Summer. It doesn't get any better! wvuskinsfan
Camden by a long shot, and even when the Nats park has all those bars built up around it, there still going to charge you 5 plus for a beer while you can get dollar beers at pickles in Bmore. Id put Citizens,PNC,Turner Field above it also. Im sure once I go to the new Yankees park and Citi field id put them up there to.
THE OUTSIDER
Camden Yards. One: I'm an O's fan Two: That warehouse and BBQ area behind the outfield sets it apart from EVERY other park.
stoney26
National Park is nicer but Camden Yards is just such a classic park. The smells, the atmosphere, there is just something about Camden Yards that brings the whole experience together. Maybe its the warehouse, maybe its the standing section above the scoreboard. Im not sure. Nationals Parks could easily become that way with a little bit of time and a few more wins.

SkinsHokieFan
At the moment I have to go with OPCY. The warehouse adds so much character to the place and it has a classic look I like Nats Park quite a bit, and love the bullpen and sight lines. But at the moment I go with Oriole Park

The Brave Little Toaster Oven
Boog's is better as is Camden. its a different type of BBQ.. the Rough Rider Rib — a jumbo beef short rib brined for 12 hours then slow-smoked for 12 hours more. RonArtest15
OPACY...and it's not even close. It's a BEAUTIFUL stadium, and it set the standard for all ballparks built after it's inception.

Pickles, Sliders, and Gino's are great for pre and post-game beers. Most nights you can get 2 for $5 and even sometimes they have $1 beers. They also have 3 for $5 hotdogs too. Plus you can take stuff into the game besides beer. TMK, how were the LF Clubs seats? Was it worth the $45 for the all-you-can eat?
renaissance
I really just don't care for Baltimore, so this is a no brainer for me. I have been to both parks multiple times though. My only gripe with Nationals Park is that they didn't really take advantage of the DC "skyline" or the river.
TMK9973
The AYCE were ok. I liked the idea, but the seats were simply too far back (Front row, club level, left field). That is where a key part of why I like Nats park better. At Camden Front row club level is about 15 rows back from lower level, upper deck is another 7 rows back. too far from the field. Nats park, upper level Right field is right on top of the wall. The seats are closer to the field. I think we did the best thing. We moved down to the lower level 3rd base side, and 3 times we just walked up to the AYCE section, grabbed a bunch of food and drinks, and came back down For all those saying Camden Yards hands down, have you all actually BEEN to Nats park? wvuskinsfan
Also if you want to go hit up the bars after an O's game the walk to fed hill takes 10mins and half the people out are in their O's gear. If you want to go out after watching the nubalnals loose you going to be stuck on the metro forever and will end up wasting time changing if your going out in gtown/adams morgan/arlington and so on, you won't catch anyone in their game day gear out there. TMK9973
another reason why Nats park was better for me - My Son likes to keep score. Nats park has the line up listed the entire game. All subs and moves are announcened and shown on the screen right away. Camden yards it kept disappearing.....

Camden yards - They didn't seem to care at all.

Exactly...I hate Bmore with a passion of a thousand suns. I really dont know why they allowed them to build the apartment complexes so high to ruin the sight lines....I thought the reason they built it that way was so you would be able to see the dome of the Capitol building out in the horizon over the left field fence. :whoknows: I give it a couple more years...that area is going to be rocking non-stop once all the bars and restaurants are built up. Yea and enjoy the 5 dollars or more beers at the bars around the park. If its going to look like they say it is, its going to be nothing but upscale yupie bars. Give me a dive bar with cheap beer, good food and good people for my trip to the ballpark:pint:
KingGibbs
LMAO! Are some of you serious? Camden Yards has so much more character then Nats stadium that it's not even close. The Nats stadium is new and that's the only thing it has going for it. Again, it's laughable and I can't stand the sight of Baltimore.
Mooney
Given time, Nationals Park too will be surrounded by nice bars, restaurants and a great waterfront area. And when the garages are torn down, the Capitol will be able to be seen from just about every seat in the house. The area surrounding OPCY was a ****-hole before the stadium was built. And many wanted the warehouse torn down during construction. But Camden Yards definately set the bar high and is a great place to watch a game. Unfortunately, it is usually, partially filled with Baltimorons.
