IbleedBnG83
Every time I hear, read, or see news about the Raiders I think "Pffft, its the Raiders." It goes both ways though. If its something like "The Raiders staff believes so and so will make a huge impact..." I think "whatever". But if they say "The Raiders don't think so and so will be able to contribute..." I think "I bet he would be fine somewhere else". They have talent on the roster but everything from and organization/coaching standpoint it just so awful that its hard to take them serious. I even have more respect for the Lions after firing Millen, hiring Schwartz and having a decent draft. I know the Redskins have their flaws, but holy crap, I feel like the Raiders will never get it right. That is truly the black hole.
sideshow24
Yup. Their ship needs a rudder bad. Al Davis doesn't seem to mind steaming in circles, so until he's gone nothing will change. We don't have the best owner either, but compared to Davis he's JKC.
Califan007 The Constipated
Over the last 6 years the Raiders have a worse record than the Lions...and that includes the Lions going 0-16 last year! lol ...you HAVE to be putrid if a team can go 0-16 and still have a better winning percentage than you do. jfriedenthal
The problem here lies..... Al Davis is old.. and can't run the raiders forever. Snyder is young, and could last a lifetime (heaven help us). :helmet::logo::point2sky:logo::helmet:

jflow78
What were you reading about him? This is what I dug up, not much of a source, but it's giving the facts: "The case against Heyward-Bey began at his first mini-camp. He reportedly looked pretty bad, albeit against the league's top cornerback in Nnamdi Asomugha. His claim to infamy was dropping passes on three consecutive plays. This led Heyward-Bey to utter the cringe-worthy line "I'm not in college anymore." Yikes. The next day, Heyward-Bey was held out of practice for fatigue and soreness. That's not good. It's not like Heyward-Bey is some 38-year-old veteran. He's a fresh, 21-year-old. Should he really suffer from fatigue? Heck, even teammate Javon Walker was free of pain following the practice. Heyward-Bey is also suffering from a hamstring injury he suffered last month. The injury has been so problematic for Heyward-Bey that he left practice last week after just one play. Not a good start. It also won't help that Heyward-Bey has a mostly unproven quarterback in JaMarcus Russell and a weak-armed on in backup Jeff Garcia." Here's the link: http://www.mockingthedraft.com/2009/6/25/924231/is-darrius-heyward-bey-already-a I feel the same way about the Raiders. It's just strange to think they were in the SuperBowl right before hitting rock bottom and kind of hovering around there, since 2003. Al Davis is the worst owner in the NFL, bar none. I don't care what anyone says about Snyder, at least he's not Al Davis. Snyder is trying to win, but is too impatient, Davis is actively trying to run his franchise into the ground. I'll take the Snyderatto combo anyday over the Crypt Keeper.

IbleedBnG83
This is what I dug up, not much of a source, but it's giving the facts: I have noticed a lot of rookies around the league with injuries and getting gased. Its typical like our rooks last year. The injury bug has hit most of his OTAs. I think we should give him time. I don't think he should have gone 7 or 8 overall, but whatever. Its a big reason we got Orakpo so thanks Al!!!
Gibbs Hog Heaven
The one positive about being a Raider fan over being a Redskin/Cowboy fan, is they've not got long to wait for the madness to end. Al Davis is on his last legs. Sadly, we've got YEARS of this **** still to suffer under Danny Boy and Jerruh respectively.. (Well, not "sadly" in Jerruh's case from our perspective, but ya' know.). Hail.

That's phenomenal. I go to school at Maryland......DHB is a stud, not only a good kid but extremely talented. He could have very well become "the answer" for the Ravens since a big, fast, physical receiver is a glaring need for them as much as it is for the Redskins. But the Raiders? Come on......Randy Moss (among many others) proved you don't have to be a terrible player to play terrible in Oakland.
Bang
Mark my words. The Raiders will not embarrass themselves this year. Jamarcus Russell finished strong, their defernse got better with the addition of Greg Ellis, and they've got potentially the best running game in football. Tom Cable had them playing tough coming down the stretch last year in and amongst all kinds of external distractions. The Raiders will not be the doormat they usually are. ~Bang

Zazzaro703
Sadly that franchise is doomed until Al Davis dies. I really hate saying that because normally i do not like to think about the death of another human being but realistically that's probably the only way he will stop making decisions for that football team. Lake Tahoe's local coverage is the Raiders and 49ners like Northern VA gets Skins and Ravens so there are some Raider fans here and they mostly agree. I mean would anyone be surprised if Mike Vick lands in Oakland to run a few wildcat plays a game and maybe line up at WR? I know my reaction would be the exact same as IBleedBnG83 "Pffft.... it's the Raiders".

Just b/c you went to school at CP doesn't make you an expert in evaluating MD talent. DHB has a ton of potential, but would dissappear from games. He needs a lot of growing and learning to do at the NFL level before making an impact. Al Davis is blind. He gets caught up with combine numbers. DHB didn't deserve to be the 7th overall pick. And the saftey Michael Mitchell who didn't even project to be a first day pick or even drafted in the top half, let alone a high second rounder.
