The Evil Genius
Not what I was contending - since I haven't had Five Guys. What I had a problem with was comparing In N Out to Wendy's.
abdcskins
Never heard of Five Guys, I'll have to try it out. It better not be exclusive and elusive like Sonic.

Predicto
Say hello to the Left Coast's newest resident:Toe Jam. I'm going to be moving out there to help my dad with some things. This should be interesting.. Welcome! Try and get the heck out of Wasco (Wasco? Sounds like a place where Elmer Fudd would live - chasing that wascally wabbitt....) The Bakersfield area is not exactly the garden spot of the West Coast. There is more to see and do in California than in any other place in the USA. At the very least, get out to Yosemite, and Big Sur, and see the sequoias at Kings Canyon, and Death Valley, and Monterey, and Lake Tahoe. You got a busy schedule ahead of you. Peeping Wizard
I'm still holding onto my undeveloped land in Bakersfield, waiting to see if it will ever pan out for me. Yeah, I know, good luck.BTW: Bakersfield is the best place in the United States for Basque food (I'm full of useless trivia). They have to do something w/all that livestock. Boise, Idaho is great for Basque food as well.

Death Valley was surprisingly interesting. I was out there to do some location scouting and drove around to most the sites. Can be a spiritual experience if you're that type of person. I am. The silence there was literally deafening and it felt like I was under a magnifying glass with the sun beating down.

Wasco will be temporary. Only a few months. Going to help my dad get back on his feet (literally) after two major surgeries. After that, I'll have my choice of where I want to go in Cali. I don't think I'll be going to LA to live. It's a nice place to visit, sure, but meh.. If he is near Bakersfield...I suspect Las Vegas will be calling..a lot. Exactly. Not only that but I have tons of family in Vegas. Which makes it a lot cheaper for me to go. Which means that no matter where I end up in Cali eventually, Vegas will become my second home. Taking the greyhound? Hell no. Never again. I'll be leaving on a jet plane.. not sure if I'll be back again..
Corcaigh
Heading south and inland from Bakersfield there's a lot of great stuff. Big Bear, Arrowhead, San Gorgonio Wilderness, San Bernardino Mountains, Joshua Tree and Palm Springs.

Monrovia_Redskin
Go see a game at Dodger Stadium. Right down the street from the Rose Bowl is Old Town Pasadena, which is pretty cool. Joshua Tree is one of my favorite places to go, but it might be kinda hot this time of year. I was born in D.C., but I've lived near Pasadena since i was 3yrs old. Huntington Beach is my favorite beach in SoCal. Griffith Observatory is a great place to get a view of Hollywood and L.A..

Toe Jam
It's all set. I'll be a permanent resident of California on September 21. I'm keeping my money in an out of state bank. The Rams/Redskins game will be my last hoorah on the east coast.
