I'm still holding onto my undeveloped land in Bakersfield, waiting to see if it will ever pan out for me. Yeah, I know, good luck.

BTW: Bakersfield is the best place in the United States for Basque food (I'm full of useless trivia). They have to do something w/all that livestock.

Yep, I think that's why it's so funny down there, it's just totally crazy. I took my fiance to a "Steel Panther" concert at the Key Club a couple months ago and it was totally frickin hysterical!

oh my gosh..youve seen steel panther too? They are so much fun! TJ you should see if they are playing and check them out. ALWAYS a good time..

Think West Virginia without the mountains and the greenery.

*queues the banjo*

the armpit of California!! i went up to visit a girl one time and when i got there it was night. the next day she was taking me to lunch and says "we're just about downtown now" and there was nothing there. i just shook my head and thought "Im never coming back here again"

Anyone know anything about Bakersfield? Apparently, I have family there too.

As my friend from Bakersfield likes to say, Bakerfield is a "good place to be from."

Its a boring, ugly, hideous pit of a town out in the middle of nowhere. If you go there, you will regret it, now and for the rest of your life.

Dude, the concert was totally out of control, we were seriously laughing our butts off the entire time. But yeah, they're my fiance's favorite band ever, so they were a must see during his visit.

I'm not familiar with its nickname, but if I was giving it a nickname I would call it "The Embarassment."

Or maybe "LA's Outhouse"

Nah, mainly just a bunch sluttily-dressed drunk chicks, lol. I think the celebs were up in the upstairs VIP section, but who knows.

My fiance and his buddy tried to force me up on the stage at one point, but I was too sober and would have none of it, haha. I'm glad too, those guys were so harsh in their interactions with the audience...but it was totally hilarious!

Just got all the details worked out. Again, I'm traveling by Greyhound. From Roanoke to Los Angeles is a 2 day, 15 hour trip. Why would I do that? Well, it's cheap and I'm not driving or flying out there. Plus you meet some.. interesting people.. on Greyhound.

This really will be an adventure. L.A., HERE I COME!

If you like Irish music there is a great band that plays the third saturday of every month in El Segundo at the Tavern on Main. They play flogging molly, pogues, traditional stuff and their own originals. They are fantastic.

you should check out Metal Skool at the Roxy. Its hilarious and there is always babes there.

I'm in a bit of a rush right now but I can tell you a millions places to go in the LA/OC area. I'll post some more tomorrow.

p.s. bakersfield sucks, meet your family there and drive to vegas.
