abdcskins
I never thought he was that good to be honest, but he worked/played hard. Good luck to him. I'm starting wonder about our WR core...
Dan T.
James Thrash was on our list of all time undrafted NFL players.

That they let him go, is encouraging to me about our WR corps. Maybe Thomas and or Kelly really have stepped up, where Thrash became unnecessary? That being said, sad to see what may be the end of a player's career. It'd be nice to see him contributing on our staff. If not, hope Thrash is set up well career/money wise, if he doesn't make it with another team. WhoRUSupposed2Be
Snyder : "It is our hope that he will continue a long-term relationship with our organization.” Zorn : "we are confident that James will be involved in some capacity within the Redskins organization.” :applause: Are these due dilligence quotes or somewhat of an honorable mention?! CM916
I'm really going to miss the guy so I hope he does stick around in some capacity as Snyder and Zorn suggested. It's going to be wierd not seeing him come out of nowhere to have 100 yards and 2 TDs next time Moss or Randel El pull a hamstring. Maybe that's when Kelly steps in now. Reaganaut
I don't think you get better than James Thrash in the NFL. Get an axe, sever his head and graft it on Terrell Owens and you have the guy who beats all Jerry Rice's records. He is old school and I wish that all Skins players came up through the ranks like him and acted with such class. I remember him in preseason all those years ago running back punts behind Brian Mitchell and how exciting it was when he made the team. A real gem from the late rounds. I will never forget him as long as I live and am sad that he will is retiring. God bless you James.

The important question is whether a Phiten bracelet could help with the pain of a head transplant.

dellman
As much as I enjoyed having a quality person like him on the team and a GREAT special teams player, I have to say this move is about ONE YEAR LATE.

Yeah, I'd like to see him stick around. Maybe not as WR coach, because we don't know how good of a coach he is...but maybe he'd be a good guy to have as an offensive assistant. Kinda like that guy Chris Meidt. Maybe Thrash could assist Hixon with the WRs the way Meidt assists Zorn with the QBs.
RenegadeTK
Being such a good guy made it hard to hate him when i saw him lined up as a WR.... but i usually found a way. He was never the greatest talent, but i cant argue that it always seemed like he gave it everything he had. Best of luck to him.

Dan T.
Not saying much. I disagree. Did you look at that list? http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=198360 Some of the all-time greats in the NFL are on that list, and it is packed with a solid core of players who outworked and out-prepared others because they had to fight and claw their way into the league from their first training camp on. HighOnHendrix
If not, hope Thrash is set up well career/money wise, if he doesn't make it with another team. I'd be surprised to see him play for anyone from here on out. He needed surgery in order to get back into playing shape, according to what I have read. He decided against the surgery, so we'll likely see a retirement announcement before too long.
AceSkinsFan
I wish him all the best. I wasn't always his biggest fan, but he had some good moments. This opens up a huge opportunity for someone, let's see who steps up and takes it.
brianm23
I agree with Dan T, take another look at the list and then try to explain your sentiment. Thrash is trash. He's not even a has been, he is a never was. Why not make the list of WRs 200 deep of best talent to never be drafted??? WR - Rod Smith. Wayne Chrebet. Wes Welker. Drew Bennett. You could have stopped right there with those names. Anything beyond is reaching at best. Kills me how you guys put up stuff like this just to see your Skin make a list. I'm a huge skins fan, but I know trash when I see it. Thrash was exactly that. Garbage.

That's the point we're making, not whether you or anyone else thinks that Thrash should be on it.
Brandon Lloyd Christmas
thrash was hardly anything to get excited about. big heart and good guy but not much production. losing him doesnt hurt us. only on extremeskins do people get worked up about losing our 35 year old 5th WR. I haven't seen anybody get "worked up" about losing Thrash. Virtually everybody acknowledges that releasing him was the right move. What some people are getting worked up about are the posters who can't help but take cheap shots at the guy. You know, those people who look at his reception count and conclude that he was worthless to the team and a drag on the roster, not realizing he earned his keep the last half of his career as a special teams guy, who happened to prepare and study so well he also earned WR snaps over more touted players who weren't ready to play. Thrash was an undrafted free agent who lasted 12 years in the NFL as a special teams standout, not to mention close to 300 career receptions as a wide receiver. He makes the list, regardless of your opinion of him.
