Bang
He's a good Redskin. Best Thrash memory for me, the man flat out BEAT the Detroit Lions by himself a few years ago with his special teams play. He downed three punts inside the three, and returned a punt for 43 yards to set us up for a score. Detroit simply couldn't get out of the shadow of their own posts almost all day thanks to James Thrash. ~Bang

I believe he won the NFC ST Player of the week award after that game. I hope they do find a spot in the organization for him, a great redskin and one of the better community guys. The Rook
Oh Happy Day!!! He is gone. Should of been gone two years ago. Practice Field legend. Without a doubt, the least informed post I've read in months. Trash was a ST stud - as returner, as gunner. A team player, a hard worker, a brutal downfield blocker, who also was a WR. Isn't it amazing that he could make it on the team when there was always a new crop of WR's brought in every year. If only we had more "Practice Field Legends". JT - thank you. :helmet: The Rook

BigMike619
Thrash may not have been the best player on the team but he always gave it his best I feel. His scrapiness was very useful at times...

Skinsinparadise
Years ago on Redskins lunch I called in to Joe Gibbs and asked him a question about Thrash, I recall Gibbs saying something to the effect that I couldn't have picked a finer player to talk about and he just gushed about Thrash. Skins4SB
Thanks for all of your services, James. You were a true Redskins. Unfortunatly, your time was up and it is time to move on. Good luck in your future endeavors.
dellman
My memory of Thrash is the Cowboy game 4 years ago when we beat Parcells. It was 4th and about 8 with 3 minutes or so left in the game and Brunell took a 3-step drop and hit James Thrash to the left hash mark and Thrash rambled for a first down. It was AFTER that Brunell threw 2 long strikes to Santana Moss to beat Dallas 14-13. IF NOT FOR THRASH those 2 td's would never have occured because it was 4th down. Thank you James for a great memory and a great career! We excuse you for the Eagles.
CRobi21
A true Redskin, through and through. He even went undercover for a couple years as an Eagle player, just to do a little extra scouting for us on them. James, thank you. You're awesome. skinsaddict
i just had to chime and and echo ALL the comments in this thread about JT being a class act and leader. The redskins were lucky to have him. i got zero beef with him playing in philly, it's not like they ever won a superbowl Good luck thrash. I hope you can relax for some time and then come back and be a leader on the sidelines. Get healthy and god bless.

MumboSauce
Appreciated Thrash's services, work ethic, etc. Was a great special team player at the end of his career. Best wishes to him. I like the movement of getting younger and giving young guys a shot to compete.

Taylor Jacobs was the practice field legend. Thrash is just a guy that gets done what he's asked with the resources he has. Much better than a guy that underacheives and has all the potential in the world IMO.
