vainglory
Take care James and thanks for everything over the years. I must admit, I am happy to see the redskins turning a page on some of the veterans that have not had much of an impact in recent years. This opens an opportunity for Marko Mitchell and Keith Eloi. http://www.redskins.com/gen/articles/Redskins_Release_James_Thrash_41258.jsp

I wish him good luck. One thing about it, father time is an undefeated opponent.

Stophovr6
Thank you Thrash! The roster is getting younger, and I LIKE it.
Rocky21
Classy classy guy who came in unheralded and had a great career. All the best in the future Mr. Thrash.
BALLz
Wouldn't mind seeing him stick around in one way or another. He'd be a positive influence on the young guys.
NoVaSkins21
Yeah, I hope they really start a youth movement at WR. Hopefully Kelly and Thomas will continue to get better. Mitchell and Eloi, IMO, are still long shots at best to make the team. Moss, I believe, now becomes the oldest WR on the team.
DGREENHULK
Tharsh was a great example of pro...we don't loose a whole bunch of production but I think his leadership in the locker room will be missed.....Your right some of the younger guys will have to step up..not only on the field but in the locker room as well. Adam291
Thanks for everything Thrash. I hope he stays with the organization as a coach or something. And before anyone starts thinking this means Marko or Eloi will get a spot, it's looking more like Roydell Williams (remember him?) will get the 5th WR spot. MattFancy
Sad to see him go, but it was needed. We need to give the younger WRs some playing time. You will be missed James. True class act!
Soup
Anyone thinking that they may go after other WRs, such as Boldin or Plax? I'm not to confident about the younger WRs being able to stay healthy or the Vet WRs for that matter.
TD_washingtonredskins
Like the move...love the player! Thanks for the many years of hard work and professionalism JT!
morpheusmeyers
Thrash was a true professional and locker room leader, but this was a decision that had to be made given his health and age. I would not be surprised to see him rejoin the team at some point in another capacity.
NewCliche21
Thank you so much for everything, James. Ever since you walked on and made the team, we've always loved and supported you. A great player and an even greater person.
Morneblade
Personally I wanted to see this end a little differently. While I wanted to see someone else on the roster, I was hoping that we could have had James retire as a Redskin as opposed to him being released. I hope he comes back and coaches our WR's in the very near future, I think he would be a great WR coach.

Thinking Skins
I hope this means we've been impressed by our youth and talent at WR. I honestly thought we'd be leaning more towards teh PUP list.
Hitman#21
Thrash is a class act, who did whatever he was told. I hope he has a speedy recovery with his neck.
DButz65
To be honest this was LONG overdue. Sure he was good when he was here the first time, but then left for the Eagles of all teams, and when he came back he was nothing more than a special teams player, a good one but this team had other needs and he was expendable. Happy retirement Thrash.
CrypticVillain
One of my favorite Thrash moments was when he had a solid game versus the Rams on MNF. Another one is last year when we played the Cowboys and he made Newman fall to his knees. Take care Thrash. icbmayday
Never wanted to see him cut, wish he would have gotten the opportunity to retire. He has been solid rock here for years and hope he will still be around in another capacity.
The Full Monty
Count me in on the James Thrash praise. He was a true leader on and off the field. Let's not forget his community activities over the years - he's a selfless guy who made us proud.
Stadium-Armory
I'm always bittersweet on Thrash. On the one hand he's a total standup guy. He doesn't know it, but VIP passes he's given out to training camp made it in to my hands, and I thank him for that! But at the same, his best years as a WR were as an Eagle. Not his fault, he needs to perform his best, in whatever situation he finds him self, but as a fan, I still see him streaking down the sidline catching passes from McNabb - against the redskins. Still like the guy, and hope nothing but good things for him, but he's always been sort of a mixed bag in my mind.
