SteveFromYellowstone
Release of Ellis reduces talent level in Big D Posted: June 3rd, 2009 | Jamie Dukes | Tags: Anthony Spencer, Dallas Cowboys, Greg Ellis, Jamie Dukes, Jerry Jones, Terrell Owens Someone please bring back the old Jerry Jones. Once again, the Cowboys’ owner tried to make an addition-by-subtraction move with a veteran, this time with the release of LB Greg Ellis. Ellis is one of those rare players who produces despite the fact that he’s on the bad side of 30. Jones used this rationale when he let Terrell Owens go. Now he’s letting Ellis go to clear a way for LB Anthony Spencer to shine. Now, I know there’s a little history here because Ellis has felt he was underpaid — and he’s right. Ellis has averaged just over eight sacks per season over that last seven years, and that includes the year he blew out his Achilles’ tendon. The Cowboys might win the Super Bowl next season, and some will say getting rid of T.O. was the reason. Bull-hockey. If they win, it’s because the quarterback who has been great in the first three months of the season finally finished the drill. BOTTOM LINE: Getting rid of players like T.O. and Ellis has reduced the overall talent level of the Boyz in Big D. – Jamie Dukes http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/06/03/release-of-ellis-reduces-talent-level-in-big-d/

BigMike619
Jamie Dukes is about half a step above Emmitt when it comes to being on TV.
tr1
Jerruh doesn't have the cash to keep this team competitive.
Hiro
Dukes has been a Dallas bandwagoner for a few years now. I honestly enjoy listening to Deion more than that buffoon.
paloosa
Well Dukes finally got it right for once even if he is a buffoon. Releasing that many guys from his team without any proven backups to produce is just another bullet in the chamber to a slow death for the Cowboys. That is fine by me because now the Cowboy fans will know how it feels to have an average team.

HighOnHendrix
Dukes is one of the worst guys on TV. I actually don't mind him. Deion is worse. So is Michael Irvin. Joe Buck can rot in HELL.
Bang
The OLD Jerry Jones? The one who got jealous of Jimmy Johnson and FIRED him after winning his second Super Bowl because he didn't get invited to sit down at a victory celebration among Johnson and his friends? Source- "Boys will be Boys" That guy? The guy who took Kavika Pittman, Shante Carver and Quincy Carter as his first overall picks? That guy? He never left, Dukey. Occasionally he was overshadowed by a coach who knew what he was doing. Ie: Johnson and Parcells. IMO< Jerry is why the Cowboys underachieve. His heavy hand is way too present in that locker room and on that sideline. ~Bang

BigMike619
you forgot the guy who ran Tom Landry out of football while showing no respect at all for all he did for that organization!!
illone
Dukes is billigerent with almost every point he tries to make. NFL Network tried to give him his own show, which bombed, now he is hanging on for dear life. My guess is he will be off the network and become the local sports guy for some crappy Dallas station:doh:.
