icbmayday
Good look in the black hole known as the Detroit lions.
Hunter_R
oh, and week three Orakpo vs. Jansen am I correct? I'm leaning towards no. They coaches clearly view him as a linebacker. They brought him during February to try out in that spot, and then there's that whole mini-camp deal. Look for Jansen vs Daniels.
Mark Moseley
Jansen was signed PDQ. Makes me wonder why we didn't trade him & at least get a draft pick for him
CM916
I know no one really cares but in Madden 07, I actually cut him right about now and he went to Detroit. After two years there, his stats were back up and I brought him back to finish out his career. I really doubt the rest of my Madden scenario plays out but I still find it funny he ended up in the same place my playstation thought he would three years ago. Est.1974
Look for Jansen vs Daniels. Along with Jansen vs Haynesworth, with Daniels moved inside, occasionally. Maybe Orakpo blitzing.... I know what its going to look like. I've just watched Mann nail the RT and QB in a play from the Lions playoff game shown in another thread
Slateman
Ummmm . . . I didn't even know he was released . . .
ADF
If I'm the Vikings, I'll do my best to get Allen matched up against Jansen on obvious passing downs. Kampman is going to eat his lunch. Then there is Ogunleye with the Bears. Jon's going to need a lot of help.
NoVaSkins21
Jansen was signed PDQ. Makes me wonder why we didn't trade him & at least get a draft pick for him I think the Lions were looking for experience along the OL and he wanted to go back home. There's no way anybody was going to give up a pick for Jansen.

NoVaSkins21
Look for Jansen vs Daniels. I don't like that match up. That's pretty much dead even with no winners.

Oldskool
i'm a bit dismayed that Jansen didn't want to retire as a Skin. Your chances of starting in Detroit are just as bad as it is here, but he is closer to home at least.
tthorsen5
Give the guy a break, he gave us 7 out of 10 good years. He was a steady performer for us at RT before 2 major injuries to his bread and butter. 10 years on the offensive line of an NFL team, good job JJ. Leonard Washington
Jansen better concentrate on making the team and starting before he worries about playing the skins on week 3.
MassSkinsFan
Jansen better concentrate on making the team and starting before he worries about playing the skins on week 3. This is a good point - he has some competition from Gosder Cherilus (BC and Somerville HS - go 'Ville!) - I think the Lions may be bringing him in to try to light a fire under Cherilus' butt. Morning Wood
Hmmmm... reading some of the responses in this thread, you'd think the guy stole 8 mil and then galloped out of town laughing hysterically like Deion Frikkin Sanders did. Jeez people - JJ gave us ten years, did everything he was asked, then got CUT. Was his play up to par the past year or two? Not so much, but quit acting like he boned your mother. If you read the other Jansen-related posts you'll see that by and large there are two camps: Jansen was a loyal Skin who did a lot for the team but didn't get a fair shake and a comeback; AND Jansen was a loyal Skin who did a lot for the team but wasn't going to be getting back to his former self I didn't see anyone saying he was a disloyal or otherwise bad Redskin. Certainly I saw no comparisons to Sanders - for one thing, he likes to hit people!!!

BAFGA
Why does everyone think that the Redskins will embarrass him? He'll be injured in preseason!
