Is it just me or should the Cowboys

have gone after Plummer or Griese??

All i'm saying is I would have been much more afraid of them this season if they would have done that and gotten Parcells..

now while I see them doing better than last season they still will be at the Bottom of the division.

Parcells has it easy...he can always say Hey I had crap to work with!!!..or he looks like a genius fro making it work with Hutch and QC...

Tuna would have to cheat his ass off to make it work with those two stiffs.

Yah,, no sense throwing good money at guys you don't want to replace guys you don't want.

Besides, I think the jury is still out on Hutchinson. i think it's possible he may turn out to be not half bad.

Hutchison strikes me as the type of QB who could grow to be servicable given time, but not a franchise-type player. You might win with him if all other pieces are in place and running smoothly, but he doesn't seem to have the ability (or potential) to take over a game.

Admittedly though, my opinion is based on what little I saw of him last season so I could be wrong.

I agree that Hucth has potential..but QV is and always will be a bust..Griese was actually fairly cheap and throwing him in the mix would have given the cowboys more of an edge..

They also could have signed Griese with a chance to compete in training camp for the starting job making it a better opportunity than Miami..(not that Griese won't beat out Fiedler, but right now it's Fiedler's job to lose.)

Griese and Hutch would have made a much more viable season than Hutch and QC. They still could have drafted a QB next season if need be.

I just think Jerrah is still the boss when it comes to personnel..making it more likely Tuna will be gone soon..2 years tops!

Apparently Hutchinson is going to be better than Ramsey. Who knew! BTW, this is a great board for trolling.

> Ramsey has a big-time arm, he has the courage, he has the smarts, he has the character ... he doesn't have great mobility. I think four out of five is pretty good, and in Spurrier's offense he will post big numbers. More importantly, I think he can win.

> x

Now look with Huthcinson's name plugged in, sounds the same, doesn't it?

Yet This idiot must think that Ramsey is ALOT better than Hutchinson and Trung Canidate is ALOT better than Hambrick, cuase he sites our Q.B./R.B. situation as to why we are gonna have a bad year, but thinks the skins are O.K.

Besides the fact that we probably have better overall recievers, a better F.B., a better T.E. package, a better O-line, and a better defense, go figure.

in regards to Hutchinson being better than Ramsey, anyone remember Cowboys fans saying Dwayne Goodrich was going to be as good when selected as Champ Bailey?

He's definitely better at hitting the off ramp on the expressway at 110 mph in his sportscar :)

That's about it, though :(

Reading all of these snide remarks by Redskins fans really makes me stop and think, "Wait a minute, these guys didn't just win the Super Bowl last year, did they?"

Poor Cowboys. They have nothing and are at the mercy of the mighty Redskins. Gee, I mean the Redskins did win TWO more games than the Cowboys last year, that should make you guys beat your chests with pride shouldn't it?

Its sad when a team that doesn't get to the playoffs and has some of the same holes as another team, goes into the season throwing stones from their glass house.

Just remember guys, your qb has proved nothing and you don't have a running back who has proved anything either.

Just remember that before you spout the Garbage your spouting.

Ken, give it a rest. This is a Redskin board and Dallas is our biggest rival. We are all homers here and we say things that homers say.

No need to defend your Cowboys ... winners of what, 15 games in the last three years (yes, yes ... one third of which came at our expense).

I understand that fans tend to hold their teams in higher regard than others, that't not a surprise.

It just bugs me seeing fans, regardless of team, poke fun at another team's weakness when their situation is no better.

15 games is horrid and I lived through it. I am betting quite a bit of money with a couple of friends that it won't be 4 in a row.

The way I look at it, if this team could win 5 games a year with campo, adding Parcells, and nothing more should net us at least another win or two. I think people around the league are discounting the impact that going from a ninny HC, to a Hall of Famer will have on the Dallas Cowboys.

Actually, Ken,

When the 'boys hired Parcells, I saw some stat (on SportsCenter or some such) where they showed Parcells' teams W-L records broken down into "Before Parcells", "1st Year", and "2nd Year".

I think that the least improvement he made, his first year, was four games. (And, every team improved at least two more games in his second year.)

Now there are some reasons why the 'boys may not equal that performance, such as

  • The 'boys (at least according to W-L) don't stink as bad as some of the teams Parcells took over.
  • I suspect (but don't know) that when Parcells took over some of those teams, he also had some players come with him, (He's the kind of coach that tends to grow a circle of players who follow him.), but I haven't seen that many players following him to Dallas.
  • The other teams didn't have Jerry "helping" them. (I still think, if I'm Parcells, when Jerry calls me, I immediatly call Marty and get him to fax me a copy of the contract he got Dan Snyder to sign.)
  • The 'boys record, frankly, has been padded lately by another division opponent who, in the future, will be sweeping them, instead.

Ken, We may have a few of the same question marks but that is about it. Our talent level is far superior to yours.

Qb- We know who our qb is going to be, do you?

Hutch showed flashes of talent last year. He may become a solid performer, but he is not in Ramsey league in regards to potential. Of course you don't believe that and I don't expect you to. Only time will tell, but I am very confident Spurrier will mold him into a fun and gun specialist.

RB/Fb/Te- This is where your question mark theory really holds water. We shall see how this turns out.

OL- This is a no brainer. Your OL isn't even close to ours. We are better then your guys in 4 out of 5 positions and our depth blows you away. Remember you started one of our guys last year who couldn't make our team. Yes you had some major injuries to your line last season. But going into this year your line has questions and the only question we are going to have is who to cut?

Wr- Do you really think your top 2 our better then ours?

Bottom line is we improved our team and the only thing the boys did was get a new coach. Oh I almost forgot, you got a new water boy. Let's see how he fares vs. Coles or Gardner.;)

Then I would suggest to you whiny boy, if you don't like what you read here simply don't bother coming back. As a Redskins fan, I could care less if we've hurt your wittle feelings here.

Guess you missed the part where we signed 4 guys who plan on being starters for the team. If you want to include Gowin, make it 5. Not to mention the fact that we actually had draft picks unlike your team and we had what looks to be a very good draft.

Actually, cowboys fans - and other teams fans - who show some sign of intelligence around here are treated fairly...

Ones who don't...people I am sure you are familiar with Chris - are rebuked...painfully to them, no doubt.

Some semblance of intelligence is all that's asked for...something that isn't a requirement on say...Silver Star or Igglephans...

Hutch is another Michigan QB, I dont klnow what it is about that program but their QB always seem to emerge afet a while. He will have a chance to mature under Parcells. I'm not scared of the or anyone in our division, they could have gotten whoever its doesn't matter to me.

Ken, Ken . . . .

You should realize that every tribe of Redskins harbors a few young braves who think red paint and big talk is the equivalent of taking scalps. They are the ones who often wilt in actual battle. But, if you can ignore the few who bluster, this board can be very informative for a Cowboys fan. There are a number of knowledgeable fans here who do not let their war paint obscure their vision, though they all will protect the Redskins wigwam from hostile invaders. In addition to being informative, ExtremeSkins is entertaining — and, regardless of the team orientation, the best NFL forum around.

Yeah, I don't get it. Why is everybody in Cowboy country so sure that either of them can be a starting QB. Everytime I have seen either of them play, they have SUCKED but they keep sticking with them. I mean if they see something on the practice field, it looks like we would have seen a hint of it by now.

I feel obligated to point out, every team had what looks like a good draft.

The 'Skins draft team simply had the advantage of watching NFL game film.
