Sebowski
why would it be better to get a cooler when everyone likes beer? i dont see how margaritas are even really a good call unless you plan on taking charge of that. seems like more of a hassle to make them instead of something as simple as a keg and a tap.i think at least 1 keg is smart just so we can have a constant flow of beer. No one is cutting out beer, Mike. Just adding to the variety. Think of it this way: the more non-beer options we give people, the more PBR for us. :2drunks:
BigMike619
well duh!! there is probably going to be about 100 people at that tailgate im assuming. i know that just the core group on here and those from the CLNC can kill a keg. im thinking 2. i was also thinking liquor too!! a cheap bottle of vodker, some tekillya, cap'n, and im sure TLC will want honey turkey. Sebowski
With all this talk of booze, I think we are all forgetting about the night before/pre-tailgate at Winstons Some people might just want hair of the dog.. Definitely have a few waiting for the bus at Winston's and on the bus. The night before might have to be somewhere else though. On Saturdays they tend to have bigger bands and charge at least $10 to get in. Then it is crowded and loud. Plenty of bars in town though. We'll party somewhere. Sebowski
Is that what they are called? an Arnold Palmer? That drink is absolutely freakin fantastic, and even more dangerous than advertised! As far as the keg info that I posted from the chargers website, I wasnt trying to cause any friction in the planning stage, I was trying to make sure the tailgate went off without a hitch. I can only imagine the hell that would break loose if someone tried to take our keg(s) during the tailgate. When it is just iced tead and lemonade it is called an Arnold Palmer. The booze version has a few different names right now since it is relatively new. I've heard "John Daly" and "Golfer's ****tail". Good info on the keg. Like I said, it may end up being more trouble than it is worth. We'll have to se what that insurance thing is all about.
Sebowski
also found this:TAILGATE ZONE: Reserve a designated parking space for your tailgate in advance and make it easier to enjoy a full day with food and friends, without the 5 a.m. wake-up call. Spaces can be reserved on a seasonal basis and in advance by calling (619) 281-PARK. I betting there is probably a charge for this. Might be worth it. It is at least worth checking in to. I'll give them a call on Monday.
SoCalSkins
I betting there is probably a charge for this. Might be worth it. It is at least worth checking in to. I'll give them a call on Monday. It's $75 for a space plus $25 for an addittional space up to 2. If we get 2 packages it will be 6 spaces we can spread across. They weren't selling them when the schedule came out. I can take the lead on this one unless someone else wants to do it.

Special K
keeastman, dont forget about the OB Hotel you stayed in when you came down for last year's game. The drunk bus is leaving from there and it is also just a straight shot to Qualcomm. Plus I'm sure you and Matt will be meeting up with all of us most of the time anyways so we can always just figure something out. Yeah, I still have the business card of that hotel and that is definitely one of the options. I just need to figure out if I have enough hotel points at other hotels to get some free nights. No one is cutting out beer, Mike. Just adding to the variety. Think of it this way: the more non-beer options we give people, the more PBR for us. :2drunks: I like your mindset... :evilg: i was also thinking liquor too!! a cheap bottle of vodker, some tekillya, cap'n, and im sure TLC will want honey turkey. Of course there needs to be liquor...that is vital to the ultimate success of this event. I shall be bringing either jello shots or a buttload of my favorite liquor...Mr. Vodka. SoCalSkins
BigMike and I have been going back and forth via PM. Here is my suggestion for the tailgate: If we get 6 spots, then we can bring in 6 cars with supplies. We'll leave 2 cars for the actual tailgate and have the 4 others leave and park off site. Basically setup super early with a small group, then have a few people stay while the others leave and go to the drunk bus and come back with the larger group. The bus will have to park in RV/Bus parking but then you walk from there to the tailgate. I thought we could do tri-trip, a few turkeys, pork tenderloin and the standard sausage and burgers. Price wise it won't really be much more than the standard burgers and hot dogs. We can even do wings like they do at the ES tailgates. I have a turkey fryer. Thoughts? That sounds like a plan but I have to bust your chops, if I dont someone else will.......... We may do wings at this tailgate but we will NOT be doing wings the way we do at the ES home game tailgates. That is unless Pez is going to be there. illone
I co-sign SoCal's idea. :applause: Maybe even get 3 parking spots I will definitely throw down for that. That gives us 9 total? We want to dominate the area. Knawmean?
Sebowski
We just need to make sure that we can hold them without cars being parked in them. I remember them moving people and their table out of a spot once to fit in more cars.
BigMike619
If we pay for those spots then they should be ours. i dont see how they can come in and take them if we have paid money and have a receipt for the spots.
