darklight1216
Matt Ryan had better all around stats with a crappier team. We'll see which one does better in the future. He barely had better stats when his crappy team played even crappier teams, but you're right we'll have to wait and see.

illone
Ravens are going to take a step back next season as they lost their center to free agency, Bart Scott is gone, and will have a new DC. So yes, we will see how good Flacco is and it won't take long because their defense will not be at the same level it was in 2008 and I could see Flacco having to win more games with his arm, something he couldn't do in the playoffs. Not sure why Ravens fans are so sold on this guy. It's not like he carried you guys to the post-season, I mean you won with a stingy defense. It had little to do with Flacco. :whoknows:
Soup
I hate to do this to Darklight1216 but Flacco is Campbell 2.0 He had such a hard time with teams that liked to play zone. During the redskins game. If you remove that TD pass, he didn't do a lot. I think the ravens will be the same old ravens and rely on Defense and running the ball. I don't think the ravens will take a slump just because Flacco will be in his second year and that team doesn't require a probowl QB to win the superbowl. they are a run first team that likes to put all the weight on the defense. All they need is a game manager and Flacco, like Campbell, is one of the best at managing a game. But if you think Flacco can win a shootout then you're mistaken. illone
I hate to do this to Darklight1216 but Flacco is Campbell 2.0 From a defensive perspective they are the same player. Any team playing against either of those two guys will just load up the box to stop the run and make the Qb beat you.

It's not like he carried you guys to the post-season, I mean you won with a stingy defense. It had little to do with Flacco. :whoknows: Dear Lord, you hit every single ignorant generalization in one short post. Impressive! The truth of the matter is that Ravens fans are sold on Flacco because, you know, we've been watching the best defensive team of the past decade never get anywhere because the quarterbacks couldn't quite "manage" games, yet Joe was able to do that while showing more poise than all the other guys combined in his first damn year. I find it funny that Skins fans, who don't know the first thing about the Ravens, are stating in a conclusive tone that Joe is not going to be good. I'm not going to make statements like "Campbell isn't ever going to be any good due to the fact that it took him three years to break 3000 yards," because, quite frankly, I don't watch Washington enough to make that kind of a judgment call. I mean, purely based off statistics alone, Flacco was every bit as good as Campbell even though Jason has three full years of development on Joe, not to mention the fact that Campbell came out of a legitimate college program while Flacco went to Delaware. From that point, Joe was the quarterback of a team that advanced to the AFC Championship game while Jason Campbell was getting busy with Miss DC. I won't compare the weapons/offensive lines/running games/defenses because the teams are pretty close in those regards, but if Joe looked better in his rookie year than Campbell did in his fourth full season as a professional quarterback, then how can you honestly say that Jason is on the same level? Ravnet
No. Please, elaborate, because I see that - Campbell threw for 3245 yards, whereas Flacco logged 2971. - Campbell had 13 TDs and 6 INTs, whereas Flacco posted 14 and 12. - Campbell's completion percentage sits at 62.3 for 2008, whereas Flacco completed 60% of his passes. - Campbell had 6.4 YPA, whereas Flacco edged him out with 7.0 yards per attempt. - Campbell was also sacked more than Joe, but I won't hold that against Mr. DC. So you're saying that Flacco wasn't as good statistically speaking? Maybe you're comparing their postseason stats?

Vicious
So you're saying that Flacco wasn't as good statistically speaking? Maybe you're comparing their postseason stats? Jason Campbell is better than Joe Flacco in nearly every stat. Half the interceptions. Even stat wise, it's not a wash, like you claimed it was. Flacco had a higher YPA, threw for more touchdowns, was sacked few times, threw for 250 fewer yards, and posted a completion percentage two points lower than Campbell's, yet they're not even? Sure, Joe threw more interceptions, but that does not make Jason's numbers better per se.
Vicious
1 more touchdown. Jason Campbell had no protection in the second half of the season, of course he had a ton of sacks. As an expert stated, Flacco had far fewer responsibilities than Jason Campbell. Half the ints is kind of a big deal, even more so for a team like the Ravens. SolidSnake84
I can't believe we are still comparing people to Campbell. IMO, Both guys have more upside, and more talent and ability than Campbell. JC is a good game manager, but he will never be the guy who wins the game on his arm. Cutler, and Flacco to some extent, are better risk-takers. ALso, both guys throw down field....Campbell does not....

DCMONEY
Jason Campbell played in another offense again, behind a battered line and against far superior defenses than Cutler. I don't know who's better but JC faced the #1 defense, #2 defense, #3 defense twice, #5 defense twice, #9 defense twice, #12 defense and #13 defense. Thats 10 games against top defenses. JC didn't play bad at all to me. Cutler faced weaker defenses behind a better offensive line. The bottom line is JC proved what he can do if given time. The O-line was pitiful down the stretch. The funny thing is the Skins front office haven't done a damn thing about it. They're a joke. Sigining Mike Williams is a joke. Why do they refuse to invest in the trenches in particular the O-line. Why is it they waited over 12 years to take a D-lineman in the 1st round? The front office is why this team remains average. Not JC. You can call it old school or whatever but the Old front office always invest in the trenches. Its where the game is won. Its how the skins won championships. Why in the hell don't they get back to it? The Skins WR's are a joke too. Overrated and over paid. I've said it before. They can't come back with Moss, Thrash and Randel El. Playing in different offenses, behind battered lines with sub par WR's is setting JC up for failure when its the damn front office all the time. Skinem
I'll wait until JC is spending more time standing up than on his back which has been the case most of the previous years. Probably would be good to know the defensive ranks of the teams they faced. JC is the QB.
