“Misdirection”
Serious question. Doesn't aerodynamics come into play in car design when maximizing fuel efficiency? Wouldn't the boxiness of these cars hurt MPG? I was thinking the exact thing.
BKSkinsFan
What is with the box vehicles? The aerodynamics has to be horrible, and the thing looks like you could roll it going 25 mph.

mjah
This thing vs. the Scion xB is Japan's versions of the Chevy HHR blatantly ripping off the PT Cruiser. I wonder if the same dude designed both, as was the case with HHR/PT. How sad Nissan design engineers must feel to play the role of Coldplay to Scion's U2. Boxy designs generally have much more to do with a vehicle's interior than the exterior, as they do a better job of maximizing useful space for people inside the car... even at the cost of making the scenery uglier for people outside the car. SWFLSkins
Maybe it will look better from behind. (That's what he said) Nope. I'm sure there's a market for this. I just don't understnd where that market is. If you gave me a choice between the Cube and the Kia Soul, I'd easily pick the Soul. Well the Guy in the Cube will pick you up when it breaks down. That is if you would be caught dead in one.
squatch66
nissan can make all the cubes they want as long as they keep making cars like these
Larry
I think the worst part is the wheels....they are horrid... You don't think square wheels are going to catch on?

Larry
Serious question. Doesn't aerodynamics come into play in car design when maximizing fuel efficiency? Wouldn't the boxiness of these cars hurt MPG? It probably does, on the highway. But they're not targeting this car at people who're commuting on the interstate. They're after the metros. (Least, that's my theory.) Larry
It's still not as ugly as a Pontiac Aztek. Hey, my brother bought a Vibe. (And I think the rear window on the Aztec looks kind of neet. Granted, I think that the concept of a fastback SUV, giving you a vehicle that takes up the same parking area as an SUV, without the cargo capacity, wasn't exactly a bright idea. But I never really minded the looks.)

HogNose
Looks just like the Scion xB. Lame. At least the Scion is a Toyota...so it's quality. I'm not sure who buys these things....but I bet most of the kids on ES would jump at it.

For the price of that I bought a Nissan Sentra, which doesn't look like a piece of **** and has plenty more options than the Cube. So no...I wouldn't jump at it at all. McD5
That 370Z is sweeet. I own that exact car, same color too. But convertible. My goal right now is to trade it in for a GTR or a skyline. Hoping they make a convertible GTR next year.
CrypticVillain
That Cube looks very ugady. With that being said, I am 6' 5". It looks like it has a lot of head room so I can see myself driving it.

Hoping they make a convertible GTR next year. So your GTR will now be 60k instead of 80k? Those things are expensive to service. http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests/2009/03/2009-nissan-gt-r-bargain-supercar-gets-expensive.html
