"I am a pilot on World and i have flown for over 35 years and their is no such thing. I worked on Delta and i flew the Tristar and now i fly the MD11 on World Airways. No such thing as a microburst that strong and the planes would not move that fast when they are on ground. It is totally 100% fake."

And you believe that ?

How about these comments.....

(ImmortalSynn) : really? Then why did it make both news, and an employee circular among Northwest agents?

(txtraveler26 ) Not a fake I worked in Tulsa at CO during this and I know who made this video.. IT was real.. planes out of service for sure...

(embfixer) For a fake video I sure did have a lot of work on the three continental express planes in the back ground afterwards. The overtime pay was pretty good also for being fake..

(TheTornadoChaser)

Also this wasn't actually a result of the tornado that hit the airport. This was according to the Tulsa NWS a microburst. The tornado was on the other side of the airport when this happened.

(Stormchaser2) Downdrafts can blow in access of 150 mph, givin it only takes 180 mph to give most planes lift to get off the ground, I DEFINATELY think 150 mph is enough to throw a plane around on the ground without lifting it up. Also take into consideration, that for jets, these are pretty small aircraft. So after quite a few years of loving Aviation and Meteorology, I believe that a microburst is plenty strong enough to do this, to such small aircraft.

(chrisburns ) actually it was real, there was a employee memo to NW folks about it

(b101aa2) this is why you are suppose to tie down aircraft when not in use. doesn't matter if it is a Cub or a Boeing. Crazy winds from nowhere can still blow them around like tonka toys.

(joker1803) Just google date and "Tulsa Airport" ;)

(stephanotismc) I was in Tulsa for this and it was a "microburst". Pretty scary and damaging!

(txtraveler26) From Tulsa and talked to the man who's son edited this video with music that was a wild night for the guy on the COEX plane that was cleaning it that night.. He The plane started shaking and as soon as he got off he looked back and no plane.. Wild and this WAS Real good timing on the camera..

(godzilla74114) this was real.

(j1232) not fake

Well I don't really know what to believe, other than the quality of the video was pretty poor and it was hard to make out exactly what happened.

That's pretty amazing that wind can push that plane but not touch the planes around it. I guess that's why they call it a microburst :)

Microbursts are very real and have caused a number of plane accidents. I'm a pilot in training and in class we spend a great deal of time on weather patterns, and we've covered microbursts in great detail. I don't know if the clown in zoony's quote spends his flying time in Microsoft Flight Simulator '98 or something, but microbursts are very much real and deadly.

There is also a show on Discovery Channel called "Crashes that Changed Flying," that I think in the last week or two had an episode on microbursts and the accidents they caused.
