PCS
Why so sad? How about "I Wouldn't Wanna Be Like You"good, funky rock..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pen4dMAv7zY Alan Parson's. They can be one of those "Oh yeah. That's right. They sang that" groups for me. Why you LoL at me?I might bring out my "Hammer":D :paranoid: Laughing because I love it. I'm not concerned. I liked the Carpenters. Okay. Another favorite. The Spinners: rubberband man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7KHSzf10T4 Games People Play, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePKS9HMrQ_s&feature=related Er. Never mind some of the interesting lip syncing. Edit: Later version of the song. First song just them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cfak36F7v58&feature=related And yes. I watched Soul Train. China
I remember listening to Casey Kasem's Top 40 on the weekends back when Stairway to Heaven was still on the charts. Here's one that was on the radio at the same time: And a couple other '70s songs from the radio that I recall: Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks The Streak - Ray Stevens Spiders and Snakes - Jim Stafford

Here's Alan Parsons' version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myJDOWh0_eU

zoony
I think the 70s were a pretty crazy decade. Sandwiched between the hippy movement of the 60s and the decade of greed in the 80s. You'd think the 70s would kind of act as a bridge of the two, but it doesn't- at all. It definitely stands on its own. I do think that the 1970s has more "WTF was I thinking"' moments than any other decades. I look at some of my baby pictures and I lmao at what my mom and dad were wearing . Great music though and you gotta respect anyone willing to dress the way they did Though I will say, the 70s wasn't much on cars. There were a few good ones early on and a few mixed in, but overall I think the 1970s is the decade that killed the automotive industry in the United States. ...... PCS
China, you just made my day. Ray Stevens. Used to watch his T.V. show. Outstanding. Actually Mick,Alan Parson's,The Spinners, and Joe South all had songs titled Games People Play. Like all three of them, different as they were. Though South's came out in the late 60's. This guy was a bit of problem back in H.S.. Girls thought he was cute,so we guys were obligated to strongly dislike the guy. However,he had great music. So we were excused for liking him. PCS
Rick. Nope. 80's,but I could see the similarity. And yep. Randy Newman. I remember when that first came out. Caused a bit of a furor. Had to be explained that it was statement song before some got it.

Had to be explained that it was statement song before some got it. It's hard to believe people were so politically correct and paranoid, about such a trivial issue, even way back then.....PC seems like more of a recent thing. Did crowds of short people picket and protest outside his studio ? Did they hold up signs saying "I'm not sure if I'm short by your standards. I'm 5"6. Were you talking to me ? I'm not sure I'm supposed to be offended. So, Screw You, just in case !"

Back to liking this thread and PCS!(Like he give a rat's arse what I think!) From 1969-1974, nobody had more Top 10 hits, moved more records, or sold more concert tickets. In 2008 THREE DOG NIGHT continues to top the list of artists with the best Billboard Top 100 Chart average! Three Dog Night - MAMA TOLD ME (NOT TO COME) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr8Y-2bHPcY I think the song that made me like TDN was from 69.
