Anyone else sick of injuries?

PROSCOUT

Just in the receivers department alone, it seem that the Redskins always have an excuse due to injuries. Moss has a hamstring. Devin Thomas is going to be great...he has a hamstring but can't make it on the field yet again....JUST LIKE LAST YEAR...didn't come to camp in good enough shape. Kelly is still out with his perpetual lifetime knee injury.

Can Vinnie/Danny wise up and sign Hackett to a contract now before somebody else calls him and we are lieft with our walking wounded. Lucky we have a rookie 7th round draft pick who seems healthier than both of 2nd round draft picks from last year.

I think the Skins need to consider trading for another veteran wide out if possible or at least look for someone after the June 1st cuts are made. I have no faith in Moss, Devin Thomas, or Kelly.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

1) Injuries are a problem every year. It's the nature of the game. That's why we go after depth.

2) Look at the Calendar. May 2nd. The season doesn't start for 4 months. It's way too early to start going into panic mode about how our 2009 season will be ruined due to a horrible outbreak of injuries.

You also have to keep in mind that the star players often have some kind of unexpected minor injury that keeps them out of non-critical practices.

Either because the coaches are being extra cautious with them, or the players are just magnifying their injuries because they think they're above those early offseason practices.

I don't understand the fascination with Hackett. Really, what is the up side there? 40 catches IF he manages to stay healthy all season?

I understand the fascination - Hackett has shown flashes of brilliance when he's made it out of the training room. What I don't understand is how some think the injury switch will magically shift to the 'off' position when he signs with DC.

Its the beginning of mini-camps. People are going to be tight. Nothing to get too concerned about just yet. At least its not Santana's hammy. He just has shin-splints, nothing to worry about. Thomas will be fine.

Other teams are going through injuries as well.

EDIT: It appears Moss' hammy IS sore...that sucks

Yeah, because DJ Hackett is who you think of when the term 'healthy WR' comes to mind. Please.

It's. May. 2nd. Get a grip fellas, a tweaked hamstring means nothing right now. Laron Landry hurt his hamstring at the end of last June's camp, how much did that affect him last season?

Vinny - we know it's you - we do not want Chad Johnson. Yes, we know you'd love to trade away picks to bring in Anquan Boldin. We don't want this either. Everything is going to be fine, please just evaluate the guys we have in camp and choose among them. Our receivers are going to be fine.

Some people simply don't have a freaking clue...

Devin Thomas is going to be great...he has a hamstring but can't make it on the field yet again....JUST LIKE LAST YEAR...didn't come to camp in good enough shape.

Are you seriously a fan of this team or are you just an over reacting little *****? Who has said besides yourself that Devin wasn't in shape? Stop making up crap like that. Reports are he got tangled up with Reed Doughty and hurt it. Guess what? That's part of Football

Kelly is still out with his perpetual lifetime knee injury.

No one says this is a lifetime injury. I don't know how some of you are going to be able to handle the regular season the way you post about things happening in May

Can Vinnie/Danny wise up and sign Hackett to a contract now before somebody else calls him and we are lieft with our walking wounded.

Hackett is a injury prone WR that we don't need on the team. If we sign either of the two vets in camp now the smart money's on Washington since he's a good Special teams player too. Hackett can't HACK IT.

Maybe but yet again it's only the freaking second of May. Too early to tell. But I can see how irrational you are so you'd think we were playing our first preseason game tomorrow :silly:

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Take it easy and relax

T.O was talking about how "#81 was his"...

I'd personally skewer him if he got his way...

Ha, I never even thought of that angle in getting T.O.

The war-cry in Washington, if T.O. demanded Monk's old number would be completely out of control. There would be riots.

This is a problem I believe in how we assess prospective players and draft picks. Look at our draft this year. Every player has a pronounced injury history... even Orakpo. Sure, football is a violent game and injuries are bound to happen, but we seem to ignore injury history and health to too large a degree in our evaluations and when a guy who has a history of getting hurt gets hurt... well...?
