NoleSkin21
Ok, I know this isn't directly related to the Redskins, but Knowshon Moreno will wear number 27 in honor of slain player Darrent Williams. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4126694 That being said. How long until someone gets number 21? I feel it will be given out eventually. How would you feel seeing someone else wearing 21? What if Landry wanted to switch jersey numbers to honor him? I know its a touchy subject for a lot of fans here and I will probably get bashed, but I am just curious. IMO, I feel that its still a bit too soon, but possibly next year I could live with it. As long as said player gets Sean's family's permission or something similar to what Moreno will do. HAIL!!!!!
SonOfWashington
Honestly, I hope it never happens. I was cool with CP doing it but not anyone else.
BigMike619
Honestly, I hope it never happens. I was cool with CP doing it but not anyone else. x2. I dont think anyone would really want to wear that number as a Redskins player.
HOF44
21 should be added to the list of unofficially retired redskins numbers.
bushwack
I think #21 will be worn again, but it will probably be another 10 to 15 years before someone wears it. I would like to see #21 be retired, but I know that it's not going to happen, but I don't see anyone wearing that number within the next 5 years. CPortJGibbs89
I think as long as Portis and Moss are still on the team nobody will try to wear that number. I believe it will happen eventualy. I have no issue with it happening 5-10 years from now that way I can tell my kids that the person who use to wear #21 was one of the best defensive players I ever saw in my lifetime and he was just hitting his prime......... damn it. Sawyer5500
21 should be added to the list of unofficially retired redskins numbers. I think its already on that list. No one has worn 21 since Taylor died. Even with over 100 people at minicamp i dont think anyone is wearing 21.

Soup
Even though most fans will understand if a player wants to wear the number 21. I think just out of respect and how much the fans loved Taylor that it will be a loooong time before the jersey is used.
Mickalino
I think it would be okay for someone to wear it.......after they earn it. Like after several years of stellar play, good work in the community, and basically becomes the "perfect Redskin" and then wears it in honor of ST. the monk
i think all of the "unnofficially retired" numbers should be used.........if not you will eventually run out of available numbers to use because the "sentimental" ones are just that.........i believe the only "officially" retired number for the Redskins is #33..........either "officially" retire it .......or use it.......:2cents:
AirMayo21
I really would be disappointed if at ANY time I see another Redskin player run on to the field wearing 21, unless its CP/Moss, and possibly Landry.
JeepRyder
If u read the article I like the way the broncos and Moreno went about the process is asking Williams mom if it was ok. I think the same would need to be done here in respect to ST. If somebody wanted to wear it I think as long as Seans Dad or fiance was ok with it, which im sure they would be, then it would be ok. I thought Deangelo might ask for it since he was always 21 but i guess he realized it was too soon. But im ok if somebody wears it as long as they go about it the right way. Whoever is 21 is usually your best secondary guy anyway. Its just seems that way. 21's are always good.

The only way to keep his memory alive is to remember him and remind others of the impact he had on your life. Not living in the area, I did not have the impact that he did on you. The only way for me to have an inkling of that impact is through you and others. So, thank you and please keep his memory going. HTTR
spjunkies
It would really rub me the wrong way if a new guy came in and took that number.
addicted
I thought once a players name was added to the ring of honor it was officially retired. Guess I was wrong. If 21's an eligible number retire it now. That's Sean's forever. God bless the man and his life.

Mickalino
It would really rub me the wrong way if a new guy came in and took that number. Definitely should not be a new guy.......but if he's established himself here, I'm okay with it. Wow.....I got post #21 in this thread.
SonOfWashington
I don't think we have the problem of running out of numbers. After all, we've yet to see someone wear the number 0 False. FB Johnny Olszewski wore 0 when he played in the late 50s. People appropriately called him "Johnny O." Averaged a league-high 6.6 YPC in 1959. Steve Bagarus also wore #00 in the late 40s. redskins021
I would be fine with it as long as the player who wears it also wears on of those black and white 21 stickers on his jersey. I think we need someone to wear #21 to keep Sean's memory alive if the # is never worn again we might for get about Sean I mean not us but the people that weren't Redskins fans will forget about him but if someone wore #21 every time we see it we will me reminded of Sean and hit bone cracking hits. http://media.photobucket.com/image/%25252321%20stickers%20Sean%20Taylor/MillerTime_3/21skinsrip.jpg They should were these stickers on there jersey. mnb123
21 is on the list of numbers the equipment manager is not allowed to give out. There was something on the redskins blog about it last year.
