J-bomb
He was the most accurate passer in college history, and he only had average-below average receivers. Plus, his throwing motion is similar to mine. They can't be to average if they are in the NFL: Ashlie Leilie, Devon bess

vicrodjr
It is hard to tell. But according to some of our ES members, wasn't Colt part of the pre-season probowl??
StillUnknown
i don't see either being anything more than a career backup (which would be pretty damn good for a late round pick and an UDFA) kinda hard to say with such limited evidence on both players. JimmiJo
I'll tell you what I observed today. Colt looked pretty sharp. Daniel appeared to be a very hard thrower but not terribly accurate. His footwork was poor as well compared to Colt's. He is likewise not that tall compared to Brennan. Appreciating that today was Daniel's fist day in an NFL camp, he did not compare to Colt in terms of proficiency. Not sure what happens in a year or two. Does Daniel remind you of how Colt was the 1st day of camp last year or is he less polished? From the photos I saw, it appears that Brennan's throwing point is higher over the shoulder than it was last year.
bulldog
Has either yet proven to be an NFL quarterback? Brennan carried the gatorade last year and helped the starters with their luggage at the airport. Daniel meanwhile is 5'11 in a league where the average quarterback is 6'3.

NFL.com as him at Height: 6-0 Weight: 218 but you are right that this is a league where QB's need to be tall to see over the LoS. I think that height may be the least of his obstacles to being a NFL QB.

Reaganaut
Brennan is better than any QB on the roster right now in my opinion. Tandler's blog also mentions that even though he's not a fan, Brennan looks very sharp. He's a little too much of a Cowboy for Jim Zorn though as evidenced by his comments last preseason when he threw for two touchdowns. He does it the June Jones way not the Jim Zorn way so he isn't competing for a starting job. Chase Daniel is a talented Quarterback, but he's not in Brennan's league. RenegadeTK
i've been jaded by all the Colt-lovers on this board.... but i cant deny that that kid has some x-factor. if he can continue developing, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Lombardi's_kid_brother
I've seen Colt Brennan throw five passes in a pre-season game (I don't watch pre-season games usually). I think I saw him three times in college, because his games came on at 4 AM. I've seen Daniel play in college, maybe, 4 times. And the score was always something like 69-62 and no one ever ran the ball. I'm not sure I've ever seen either take a snap under center. So...clearly....I'm ready to judge each of them as quarterbacks in the WCO.

paintrain
I picked Brennan because at least now he's had the benefit of one season on an NFL roster. I doubt either one is anything but a career backup or even sees a snap of meaningful regular season action.

Its just that all through the draft the experts where saying Colt could not complete a pass under center. It was just good to see him do it there. He proved them wrong in that game. Now lets if he can do it in a real game.
