Predicto
It's May Day, the day that Militant Labor comes out to march, and of course all of the far leftists jump in to the march wearing their Che Guevera t-shirts and pretending that it really is a march for their dreams of a socialist revolution. Outside my window is this year's protest, and frankly, the turnout is lousy. I have seen bigger protests organized by taxicab drivers seeking a fare hike. There is a very slight drizzle, but not enough to stop people who are really motivated. I suspect that without Bush/Cheney to rage against, leftist bombast has lost its appeal. BigMike619
I love the fact that places like The Gap and A&F make those Che shirts. If he knew that he would revolt against them. I like to drive by protests, honk my horn and when they look at me all excited I flip them the bird. Nothing like giving a dirty the bird and watching the enthusiasm drain out of his body like....... Burgundy Burner
As one of the resident right wing whacko maniacs at ES, I fully support their right to march, protest, chant slogans, etc. My cousin is out in SF on a six month assignment with Abbott Labs - she's crazy enough to do something like this protest. She's the black sheep of the family.
Predicto
Predicto do you feel that the people wearing Che shirts actually know anything about the man? Of course not. They know him as a symbol, nothing more. The man himself was scum, but he did take a nice picture. Of course, that is true of lots of famous people. Conservatives genuinely believe that Ronald Reagan stood for fiscal discipline. Heck, we have Andrew Freaking Jackson on our $20 bill, and he was a flat out madman. Burgundy Burner
Can I join? Suppose so. Can't remember how much it costs. I don't march or protest though - just post a few crazy things here and there. My family just got back from Seattle and they saw a protest out there on the 15th. It was a teabag thing - surprised to see that. I thought Seattle had leftist protests only. Special K
Haha, that's funny. I'll have to call my girlfriends living in SF to see if they saw anything. They're both silly libs like you Predicto :nana: And no way do 99.9% of those people know who in the hell it is on their shirts, lol.

robotfire
Why is it that almost every protesting group is full of jerks? Is it because extremists are jerks no matter what side they land on?

Ghost of
Conservatives genuinely believe that Ronald Reagan stood for fiscal discipline. With a Democrat Congress, I'm not sure how he could avoid cutting that Cold War deal of "you support my anti-Soviet measures and I won't put up too much of a fight on all your nonsense!" Though I got a kick out of that old liberal story about Reagan being retold by my communications instructor--the one about cutting the budget for sanitariums and other mental health facilities and THAT is where we get our homeless. Nevermind that Reagan faced a Democrat congress which would have had the power to stop any proposed cuts AND demonize him in the press for it after thwarting him. Madison Redskin
Did they at least have a unified message? Typically, those kinds of protests turn into a bunch of people protesting meat, cars, non-organic soap, and just about everything else under the sun. It's comical. What I get a kick out of is all of the people who're convinced that Reagan bears no responsibility whatsoever for the budgets which he wrote and proposed.
