Gracelander
As someone who goes out to Vegas quite a bit I was shocked to see that Danny Gans died. I never went to his show but you couldn't help seeing his image everywhere out there when visiting. http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/05/01/obit.gans/index.html
mjah
No cause of death given. Hmm. That guy had probably another 20 years of Vegas in him. His picture was everywhere in that town and he was worth hundreds of millions in future earnings.

spjunkies
That guy made some SERIOUS bank. I've never heard of him, but it's sad to see someone go when they're that young.
McD5
His show was absolutely awful. But sorry to hear that.

aszumilo
I worked at the Rio Hotel when he was there. He was a nice guy, I got to meet him a couple of times, but, his manager was kind of an ***. I saw his show and wasn't all impressed with some of his impersonations, but he was pretty good on most of them. Overall he put on a good show, but, it took awhile to figure out some of his impersonations. From what I know he left the Rio because of contract issues. He wanted more money, so the casino raised ticket prices to accommodate that. Then he was upset that the casino was making more money, so, he wanted more. Finally both sides decided to end the contract and he moved on to play at the Mirage. No matter how much they charged for his shows, they were always sold out and people always seemed to enjoy it. I loved the Rio back then. Best hotel in Vegas. His show....not so hot. Sold a lot of tickets though.
aszumilo
Yeah the Rio was the best place to work back then, til Harrah's took over and we became "property scum".
Kunia5
It's sad. He seemed like he was really trying. I just didn't think his act was very good. Last time I went to Vegas Toni Braxton was on her way in, and Elton John was on his way out. Toni Braxton? It seemed like the number of magic acts was multiplying exponentially.
