I just hope Blache is planning on moving him around all over the place because that is what distracts QB's and causes confusion.

This guy is a beast and could be the 2nd coming of Laurence Taylor except without the drug problem.

Let's not get carried away here. The last time we drafted a player that was said to be "the next LT" he turned out to be a freelancer who blew his assignments.

Let's hope Orakpo is better than that and makes his own name.

see thats how u become a jack of all trades and master of none...i got no problem with them testing him out during mini camps or even preseason but they better make up their minds before the season starts. id personally rather have him on the line because i DONT want daniels out there. we never had a good pass rush with him out there and getting haynesworth would be a waste if we're just going to throw out an even older/slower daniels than the one we knew.

My only worry with it looking like Orakpo starting out at LE is how he will hold up when he is asked to perform a different role than he has been used to at RE. We saw what happened last season when we tried to use another RE (Jason Taylor) at the LE position and saw the struggles that he had there in the new role. To really be an effective LE Orakpo will need to add ~20 lbs on to his frame to better hold up with the double teams that the position will command.

Major difference you are missing - Taylor had 10+ seasons in the NFL at RE and was suddenly asked to play at LE - Orakpo has 0. He's young and he can easily learn to play in several positions.

dude...the man has 8% body fat! everything he has now is straight up muscle mass....he's already benching 500 and squatting 600. if ur asking him to bulk up that would mean putting on fat cuz its gonna be near impossible to add 20 more pounds of muscle. fat = a slower orakpo which is somethign i think we can all agree is a bad thing. just cuz hes not big doesnt mean he's not strong as hell and against those bigger tackles he has the burst to out maneuver them...and remember that haynesworth is out there to help out with some of those double teams so wheres the problem?

Second coming of LT? Wow, that's quite a stretch. Reminds me of all the people who suggested that Harold Minor was "Baby Jordan." That worked out...

two quick things chase daniels looked good in those highlights except for the INT he threw and notice how Orakpo's DT never got a push up front imagine the QB with nowhere to go cause of a push in the middle and Rak coming effectively off the edge

What running plays did you see? I saw mostly pass rushes against spread offenses of the Big 12... The runs I did see he does need work. He needs to stand up those linemen and not get pushed back. He attemptes to go around them on therun as he does on that pass and u cant do that in the NFL. You leave a HUGE hole

Yeah and he got owned on the one run play toward the end. Although on e the one play he got blocked outside ans then came back inside and took the runner down from behind.

I just hope we are able to pick up a really good SLB to compliment him.

Imagine the SLB rushing the QB in his shadows that would cause havoc...

pushing the QB right into the waiting arms of Carter.

You just explained why we shouldn't use him at LE. His body is built to be a RE and that is where his skillset is best served.

If he's already a workout buff I hope he becomes good friends with Philip Daniels. I'm sure he could tech him a thing or two about getting his body ready for the season, and he claims (was news to me) that he was a bit of a tweener coming out of college as well and obviously has managed to bulk up.

This was the first Orakpo footage I've seen so it's pretty exciting for me. His explosion off the snap is amazing.
