CPAllTheWay012
I will not say I dont like him, We need a homerun guy that can take it to the house. All nfl team got a fast ass RB that can take it to houseExample Cowboys - Felix Jones Eagles - LeSean McCoy and Westbrook Giants - Ward Pitt - Parker Jets - Leon Washington Carolina - DeAngelo Williams Redskins - ???????????? Please dont say CP or Betts is a treat to take it to house. Last time CP score over 50 yard TD was first carry Clinton Portis is a homerun hitter for the Redskins. Other fans for NFL teams see it that way, I have no idea why you don't. Portis: http://www.vimeo.com/658555 Here are the things the Redskins lack which is why you don't see Portis busting huge plays as often now: 1. A good offensive line. 2. A good passing game. 3. Downfield blocking.

But yea ... all it takes is a mid round pick to get a scat back with big play potential ... we need one so bad. A guy that doesnt need a full workload but has the potential to make things easier on the offense.
Santana_Fan
Because Portis doesn't break off 80 yard runs and score...and because Cooley is slow. These are the reasons I've seen people say they don't like them.
Dah-Dee
Cooley drops too many passes and doesnt have the speed to get open consistently Say what say what? Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten were the only TEs targeted more often than Cooley last season. Gonzalez was the only TE with more catches. Witten was targeted 10 more times and caught 2 fewer passes. Cooley was tied for #11 among all players in the NFL in catches. Cooley caught a greater percentage of passes targeted to him than any TE. In fact, Cooley was #12 among all players in the NFL in that category, and was one of only two players in the top 20 with more than 100 targets. Cooley gets open, and he catches passes. I couldn't find the "dropped passes" stat for Cooley, but he was not among the NFL leaders (top 37 listed), which means he had no more than 5 dropped passes last year (Santana Moss was tied for #7 with 8 drops), although some other TEs were on that list, such as Dallas Clark (T-#14). All the stats I am referring to can be sorted here: Good luck finding dirt on Cooley

What I am trying to get you to see is CP is a power back now and not like he use to be in Denver. All team need a a speed back that can carry the ball 10 to 15 times a games

Loyal2Washington
Well I guess it's a good thing we don't take a little thing like winning into consideration around here. BTW 38-42 since 04 but who really cares. Other then winning CP and company are by far the best players in the league.

Anthony was very fast in college and rookie year but he got injury fews times. I am still hoping that we cut Rock or Betts
Dah-Dee
I think Cooley is overrated by Skins fans. Not saying he's a scrub, but overrated. Don't forget that he's also overrated by the NFL coaches and players whose votes collectively accounted for 2/3 of the totals Cooley needed to go to the Pro Bowl after each of the last 2 seasons (I guess we can blame the post-2006 season Hawaii trip solely on the coaches, since he went as an alternate). Those idiots!
Braxford
I don't see how anyone could not like Cooley and Portis as players, they are both gamers and their skills and production are CRUCIAL to the Skins offense. If you don't like them personally by how they come across ( I like em both) I can understand that. But for a fan not to like what they do on the field for the Skins. Absolutely nuts. It takes more than two players to win a football game. 38-42 is not great by any stretch of imagination and of course all Skins fans want Super Bowl wins but there a a lot of teams out there who can't even come close to a near .500 record over the last four years. The Skins are a playoff caliber team and a big reason is because of CP and Cooley.
SlinginSammy HOF '63
I have not been hear long but I've noticed a lot of people around hear don't like clinton portis and chris cooley and I'm just curious what the **** is wrong with you guys maybe I missed something but last time I checked they were pretty much our whole freaking offense please explain what you don't like about these guys because it's fun to say something bad about one of the two and then watch 100 people get their panties in a wad.:hysterical:
cphil006
I like Portis, but I've been critical of him... usually when he bashes the coach or doesn;t shut his mouth when he's supposed to.

They're still part, CP is arguablly the biggest part, of a sub .500 team that has made absolutly no noise or been seriously competitive in five years. I like winners not stats. I'm tired of hearing people hype up players on this team when in reality they are avg. players and their record supports that, regardless of what you think. Oh and being playoff caliber every other year, instead of a yearly threat, when we have all these supposed star players is a tad dissapointing. Rdskn4Lyf21
I love CP and Cooley is the ****ing man. My only issue is CP speaking his mind a bit much. I also feel he's lost a step and while a great RB, he won't be playing at a high level that much longer. I hate to say that but I'm judging from what I see, not production-wise, but the guy takes a beating every game, he can't do that forever (sadly). Kunia5
I've always liked fellow employees who speak their minds when new bosses roll in, with all kinds of new obviously non-applicable approaches. Portis knew what works. The team was relying on the run for its early success. That and defensive turnovers. Taking him out because "he didn't practice" was obviously lame retaliation by a weak coach. I think everybody likes Cooley fine. It's just that his TDs dropped so dramatically. Which I think can be chalked up to schemes shutting him down, knowing that the QB was most comfortable with short passes, and Cooley thereby being the most likely target. A QB who can stretch the field, while running, might have lead to more offense.
