KokoMike
Who cares what colt thinks? I don't, put this in the cult of colt thread! You are now in the Cult of Colt thread.
modazfuk
I'd rather have a sixth or seventh round pick on my team who excels and makes it big than some high priced underachiever. Colt is motivated!!! Horton is motivated!!! My kind of Redskins. It really is too bad Snyder is the polar opposite of "buy low-sell high".
kdias
Why would someone post something so insignificant. I don't post very often because I'd rather just read what others have to say, but when I see something ridiculous I can't help myself. There is so much hating going on among Redskins fans its pathetic. I like CB, but I'm biased. That doesn't mean I would post something to make JC look bad. We are all fans of the team and of individual players. So save the post criticizing someone for expressing his honest opinion (CB that is). Can't wait till they start playing. The better player should play.
LizKauai
Redskins fans are people who wish the Redskins success and support the team with their good will, their cheers and their praise. Redskins fans want the see good things happen to the team on the field and off the field. Colt is a Redskin. Jason is a Redskin. Cooley and Portis are Redskins. They and their teammates thrive on our praise and support. It fires them up to play even better. Fans are the 12th man on the field. Detractors, hurtful critics and ill-wishers... are they really acting like Redskins fans? Do their words inspire and support the team? I am a Redskins fan. I say HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! mistertim
Colts comments was truthful and energetic, I can almost feel his burning energy. Put me in Coach!!!! Put me in!!!!!!!! Zorn: "OK, Colt...just as soon as you can actually take the #2 spot from someone. Oh wait, sorry. I forgot, all the times I have watched you play in practice, etc and my evaluation of you doesn't mean anything compared to what our message board posters think. You're starting!" Taylor 36
He needs to hang with Quinn. Maybe he coulda went higher (a couple rounds) What did he expect? Hes a 3rd stringer here, couldnt beat out Collins, where does a 3rd stringer get drafted? This up-coming Preseason will be his first shot at competeing for a spot. Last year, there was no competition at QB, even for the #2 spot. And, if you even watched one preseason game and believe that TC wa better as the #2 than CB, you need to get a new contact perscription NOW! mbws
June Jones was interviewed on the local ESPN affiliate here in Hawaii this morning and I learned something about Colt I never knew before. Jones said that prior to the draft, he only got one call from an NFL coach asking about Brennan. It came from Jim Zorn.Jones thought he would hear from a ton of teams but Zorn was the only one who called him. The real surprise to me was not so much that only one coach called. The surprise was that it was Zorn. For some reason, I had been reading between the lines that Zorn didn't particularly care for Colt. Not sure why I felt that way. I guess it was just a vibe I would get from Zorn whenever Colt's name would come up. Not sure what all this means in the big picture, if anything. What you might have seen was Zorn think, "Oh ****, I made a mistake picking this guy."

LizKauai
"If we're lucky, we have parents who encourage us. Nothing really replaces a mother or father who believes in you. But even if you don't have parents who believe in you, it's important to have someone. Someone you trust, enough that when they offer criticism, you know it's to draw you out more fully, not shut you down even partially." HAIL!!! Though it's tough not to do,considering it's one of several favorite past times here on E.S.. What this does say to me,(see? Told ya. ),is that Coach Z knew of Colt and clearly had an interest in the young man. Duh. The team drafted him. Tells me he's got a good idea of what Colt can or cannot do and who knows? Maybe he even picked up a few things from Coach Jones. We'll see.
onnie007
He prob fell asleep cause he though no way he would be drafted! lol So true! Love the guy but his supporters are not being OBJECTIVE in their assessment of him. I never hear anything about his delivery. It seems as though it is a non-issue when in reality it is a BIG ISSUE given his height.

What the hell is wrong with these people?" I'm sure Zorn thinks he has talent and was probably a value where we got him...but remember, we drafted a freakin' punter before him. If Zorn looked at Colt for a while and thought "I think this kid can be our guy" I seriously doubt they would have waited until almost the 7th round to get him. CommanderDOOM
he sounded pissed off with a chip on his shoulder.... I like He has a release that reminds me of the greatest QB ever to not win it all. Being fixed He's taller than Drew Breez.

Who knows what happens every day at practice though. If you're better, you win the job..PERIOD. Colt didnt do things consistantly to oust TC. Being #2 means you played against better players on opposing teams, so Colt dominating the scrubs means what. What would he have done against the players Todd played against? LoudMouth12thMan
My first thought as well.it's pretty amazing actually that with this much money at stake, organizations across the board consistently flop year in and year out. Is it REALLY that hard to evaluate talent? I guess so. I think it speaks to just how competitive the league is. It has more to do with teams (scouts, GM's, and coaches) believing that certain players are something that they're not. They want to believe that "x" player is good at his position b/c he does, this, this, and this well, when in reality, said teams are just hoping or forcing themselves to believe that "x" player fills a need. If you watch enough tape, you'll think that Jon Jansen can still play RT b/c he run blocks well :paranoid: Perception vs. Reality.

It seems as though it is a non-issue when in reality it is a BIG ISSUE given his height. Yea. I'd love to see him make the same throws in an NFL game. Like a real one. (On second thought, right now I wouldn't want to see him on the field, kind of scary) Watching his pre-season tape, I found nothing but poor coverage most of the time. These people may think that JC is not the answer, but neither is Colt Brennan. He's going to have to change A LOT to become a good QB in this league. Which I'm not sure he'll want to do, seeing as what he's done to get himself here is something he might not be able to change. Meaning his road all but relies on his willingness to change and succeed.

He is bigger and buffer than ever before. He is HEALTHY and he has ATTITUDE and CONFIDENCE. (Remember that when he went into the Sugar Bowl, he had to overcome a tweaked ankle, concussion, horrendous travel schedule with the team - every away game requires at least 5K miles of travel and 2-3 timezones- and extra Heisman activities requiring more travel and PR interviews, unknown injuries and the morally debilitating unannounced but understood departure of their Coach, and the fact that the UGA defense consisted of ONE theme: Take Out Colt Brennan.) Brennan will be awesome.
