WP: Colt Brennan Doesn't Respect the Draft

:hysterical:

I guess the OP thinks Brennan should pay more respect towards the Kipers, Jaworskis, and McShays of the world who are responsible, year-in and year-out for heavily influencing where one goes in the draft aka HYPE or lack thereof

Colt is confident in himself and he wants to go out and lay it on the line.

He earned great respect in the developmental league aka college.

Saying he'll get his chance later is the type of thinking that ruined General Motors.

It is the old school way. Come learn how we do it and you will get your chance. The only problem with that is the Snyder Redskins haven't done it the same way twice yet.

The draft did cost him a good $20 mil guaranteed and a starting role on a really bad team, all because of the rumors surrounding one awful bowl game and the resulting minor hip injury.

No, I don't want him to start here by the way.

It doesn't surprize me that Colt feels that way. Every so called expert said that he didn't/doesn't have the skills to be a quarterback in the NFL. I would be pissed if somebody told me that I can't do what I love and I would imagine Colt fells the same way.

And a lot of so called experts are saying that the Skins are obviously not in love with Jason.

Both prove nothing.

It wasn't really much of a "rumor". That bowl game was seen by tons of people and Colt got manhandled in a big game on national tv. Not saying it proves he should have dropped as far as he did, but it isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. That and articles saying he didn't look very impressive during Senior Bowl practices, etc. Again, doesn't necessarily prove anything, but plenty of NFL talent scouts see that stuff and it does raise questions.

There should be a maximum amount that a player can make coming out of the draft. Handing a guy millions of guaranteed dollars when he hasn't even played a down and established himself as a player? I can see why they look into every detail and are so reluctant to take chances and risks. But as far as CB5 goes, I was one of those guys that felt like he should have been taken earlier, but then again if that happened he wouldn't be a Redskin. I hope the best for the guy, and for all the guys and girls that want him to be our quarterback, he will be one day if he earns it and proves it on the field.

If they do end up getting rid of JC.. and I'm not too sure they will, seeing as how we might have an uncapped year next season and we will be able to retain him because of the rule of 6 years. I'm sure we could try Colt out by then anyway, maybe even after this season. Hopefully his arm gets stronger and we fix his mechanics a bit, but that's pretty much what Jim Zorn does, right?

Colt says its what you do after the draft. You know with one good game, colt can prove a lot of people wrong. One good game, will show everybody that says he can never play at this level will be wrong!!!!!! Just one game, Of him not getting his passes blocked. One game where he throws a few TDs playing against a first string, One game where he shows he can play under center, when they say he can't do that, One game for all those expert draft guys that say he his just a QB from a weak conference, With a weak arm. These guys have not only have said he won't make the NFL but they also said He will never be able to do it. And ones he does it, there going to just make up more excuses of why he did so good!!! I know one game does not make a great QB, But with Colt it will just take one game to prove them all wrong!! just give the kid a CHANCE!!!! Cause if he can do it ones, he can do it again, And That's how it all starts!!!

HAIL!!!!

The draft is the process by which people that know football forget all that knowledge and give into their homosexual sides. They forget all about a college career and miles of game tape and heavily rely on meaningless 40 numbers and their "body type".

QB's get the worst of it because if you're the next Montana but no one believes in you because you're an inch too short or throw too oddly for the scouts, you're lucky to get time with the scrub team, and thus no real chance to impress coaches earn a promotion. Literally they have to pray for injury to get a sniff at practice time. And how often are the scouts wrong? A lot.

You should be a CB supporter also. You know why? Because he's a member of the washington redskins. You should be rooting for his success, not making asinine comments such as the one above.

Intresting comment... should the same be applied to Jason campbell since he's also a redskin? i think so

The only thing I think Colt should be doing right now is figuring out how to win the backup job and be active for a game or two next season. If he doesn't do that this year, he will have completely justified his 6th round pick status.

The fact he out played the other two last preseason means nothing right?
