People from PFT think that the Skins might be bluffing about wanting Sanchez

Yep. We have much bigger needs than QB.

The only position on the field that would have directly resulted in more wins last year with upgraded play are QB and Offensive line play. Had your boy Jason Campbell been actually able to make more plays and score more points against the sorry ass Bengals and 49ers we might have made the playoffs. If you think we don't need a QB your delussional

Broncos will workout QB Sanchez in Los Angeles

The Broncos say they like newly acquired quarterback Kyle Orton, but members of the coaching staff are flying to Los Angeles Tuesday to put USC quarterback Mark Sanchez through a private workout — five days before the draft. Sanchez is regarded among the top two quarterbacks in the draft, along with Georgia’s Matthew Stafford.

Stafford is expected to be selected by Detroit with the first overall pick but even if he is not, the Broncos could favor Sanchez, whose stock, based on recent conversations, could make him a top-five draft pick. The Broncos have the No. 12 and No. 18 overall picks and could use one of those to move up into the front end of the draft, where they likely would find some takers who want to move back, for economic and player value reasons.

:D That Jax/Denver trade to #8 looks more realistic than Dannyboy freaking and going after Sanchez.

Agreed Snyderratto is not smart enough to put up this elaborate of a smoke screen.

Granted this is elaborate, but does anyone remember when K2 "was" our man? I don't recall if there was alot of media attention to it, but I do remember K2 was pissed that he got lied to and was part of our little game. Hopefully this draft turns out like that one did:D

The only logic behind this smokescreen would be if we're trying to trade down. This does remind me of the K2 deal given how everyone believes we're going to draft him but logic says we won't (that year we need someone on defense more then offense which is why we draft Sean Taylor instead, smart move). If for some crazy reason Sanchez is still there at #13, that's a huge amount of leverage to use against someone that really does want him.

Enough of the games, though, seriously. Either trade down and fill the other holes on this team or get us a strong side linebacker and keep it moving.

On the flip side, this also reminds me of the year we drafted JC. Too much smoke even though most people believed Ramsey was going to be the man. Guess what, we drafted a QB, and Ramsey still sucks. Whatever decision we make in this draft won't be a knee-jerk spotlight reaction type of call. If the Owner, GM, and head coach all believe JC isn't going to take us to the promised land, I believe them.

If they want him they will get him. KC would love to move back and grab 2 firsts for their 3rd overall pick

The Skins are the worst team at bluffing in the history of the NFL. They held up a sign a week prior to the 2005 draft and said WE ARE DRAFTING JASON CAMPBELL! Unfortunately for you, no one else thought he was worth more than the 25th pic so noone jumped ahead of you for him. It's true! :D

I have no idea what's going on anymore. I don't think anything is out of the realm of possibility when it comes to the Redskins' front office. Needless to say, it should be an exciting Saturday.

For the record, I don't think we should draft Mark Sanchez. I would rather draft several offensive linemen and a defensive end and then hold an open competition between Jason Campbell, Todd Collins, and Colt Brennan. Let the best man play.

"There are mounting rumors and reports that the Washington Redskins are interested in making a move into the upper reaches of the draft for a crack at USC quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Some league insiders, who are assessing the Redskins’ sudden interest in Sanchez in comparison to the team’s past pre-draft antics, believe that it’s very possibly a smokescreen.

Maybe it’s just part of a broader plan to motivate current starter Jason Campbell into becoming a high-end quarterback.

Or maybe the Redskins simply don’t want anyone to know what they actually plan to do with the 13th overall pick in the draft.

Frankly, we think that several of the teams linked to Sanchez might be bluffing. The Seahawks need a successor to Matt Hasselbeck, but they also need the next Walter Jones. "

Ironically, it was the selection of Sanchez at No. 5 that helped Orakpo fall to No. 13. With the Browns out of the top 10, that left one fewer team targeting defense ahead of the Redskins.

just mention this in another post, but it fits better here.

I don't know man, is snyder freaking Keyser Soze?

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

build up hype on sanchez to make the real player(s) you covet drop down ...

Don't know if this has already been mentioned but... the Jets trading up to take the Browns pick worked perfectly for the Redskins. The Browns would have probably taken a defensive player so Orakpo would have been gone by 13.

Did Vinny spread rumors that the Redskins were willing to move up to take Sanchez to try to trick someone into moving up there??

I dont know if it was done on purpose or not, but that worked out perfectly. I have to believe the Browns would have gone with Orakpo. The announcers were saying Raji, but they already have Rogers at DT.

The Skins didnt waste any time picking Orakpo either. I think they had made their selection before the Broncos pick was even announced. They might have had Sanchez rated at #1, but Orakpo was definitely their guy in this scenario.
