With all this chat about Sanchez (which i hate)

Is it

a) Really true that we might even trade up for him!

B) A cunning ruse to trick other interested parties to trade up for him/ increase our picks value

c) He's good, but only if we traded back

d) Just not even true that Danny has a man crush on him

e) Zorn will tell Danny where to shove his man crush - (he wants a WR/TE)

I hope to god its B - I'll admit I do think Sanchez has got that winner aura about him, which makes him better than he really should be on talent alone - but i don't see him being any better than say Brady Quinn, or for that matter Colt - though personally i think JC deserves 1 last shot with a decent O-line and WRs

Several sources have suggested the Redskins have begun to send out feelers on what it might take to get Seattle's pick, and the Seahawks, at this stage, would likely seek two first-round picks on the high end. That was a price the Redskins were willing to pay for Chad Johnson last year and Jay Cutler a few weeks back, although neither deal was completed.

Is it possible that Danny is saying we have a man crush on Sanchez so that someone in the top 10 will trade with us, and then Danny goes ahead and drafts Orakpo? I would be excited if this occurred!

I like this scenario, as long as it don't involve next years first pick:doh:

Even though I prefer OL, my hope is that if we do this, we take Orakpo. Unless Jason Smith is still there, by some odd stroke of luck, then you take him.

I personally don't think Orakpo's worth trading up for Dog. Sanchez is IMO if thats' what we decide to do. I know we have protection issues and targets that are not quite ready, but it could very well be the case that Dan and VC have given up on JC. Part of me wants OT, but another part of me thinks a change for what seems to be a good fit for a WC offense in Sanchez might be worth a little more pain.

Again, I was saying 'If we were to trade up, I'd hope it was for Smith/Orakpo and not Sanchez, I'm not advocating trading up.

But I do disagree. I think Orakpo will be a stud. Might not be 100% what we need at the moment, though.

If we need a QB, that probably means we'll struggle this year. If that's the case there are plenty of great QBs coming out next year. That probably means Colt taking the reigns for at least a year, too.

Here's the best answer:

None of us have a freakin' clue.

Yeah but what we do know is that the FO is a bunch of morons and when they have their mind set on someone they usually do almost anything to obtain him. I just hope the recent pattern of failure lives on. We failed to aquire Ocho Cinco, Lance Briggs, and J. Cutler.

I dont think our FO is smart enough to use a smoke and mirrors attempt to garner better picks. That is what Seattle is doing right now. Seattle is not going to take Sanchez, but they will trade the pick for several future picks! Smart.

If we trade up for Sanchez, boy will I......

Let's just say we better not trade up for him. Not because he won't be good (we don't know), but he is not worth the value to trade up. I don't want to take him at #13 either, but if we do, I will not be mad.

Similar to what SD did with Brees/Rivers and what the Pack did with Favre/Rodgers, Clev. with Anderson/Quinn.

It creates competition and also having two QBs with trade value increases future value on draft picks. That is why I will not be mad at #13. But trading up sets this franchise up for failure. The chances are higher of failing strictly because first round QB's bust just as much as succeed.

I totally agree, we should not trade up for him. If he is there at 13, take him...but no trading up. It just doesnt make sense for us.

History of the team under snyder...

1. He gets all twitterpated with the idea that Player A could be great even though he has no concept of how to evaluate Player A.

2. Lil' Danny gets a boner and shows it off to everyone. It is widely reported who we are after long before the appropriate time to acquire said player.

3. Every other team knows that Danny "Gets whatever he wants" meaning he is a sucker and will give up too much to keep his stiffy.

So basically yes we are going to trade this year's first, next year's first (#1 overall) and an additional pick for the opportunity to draft Sanchez.

you know what the scariest part of possibly getting Sanchez is?

the fact that the last time we tried to acquire a big name player, we didnt get him.

that just doesnt happen very often (only other timei can think of is Ochocinco last year - ha, it never happens in free agency), and i have a feeling that Dan is DETERMINED not to fail THIS TIME in getting his man.

life is life - if you want something do not give up. good motto unless you are the decision maker of an NFL franchise and you will trade virtually anything it takes to get your man.

bottom line is this: i fear greatly that Dan might approach this draft with absolutely no "walk away" price when trying to trade up to get Sanchez. a smart GM will test him and probably get a whole lot in return.
