And I'm sure you will STFU about every issue that you have not experienceed first hand. And this is assuming you have witnessed torture first hand, which only a tiny fraction of folks who serve have.

"I was there" is not an argument, nor does it absolve you from having to articulate why you have arrived at this opinion if you want folks to agree with you. There are hundreds of books based on the experience of nation's millions of veterans that speak to this issue-the vast majority of them disagreeing with your POV. But if you truely are an expert, you should have no problem making your case based on what you have learned.

Plenty of folks who have a ton of experience in this area disagree with you. John McCain, David Patraeus, even George Washington. You can claim that we are in a unique time and that the current enemy is different. I'd like to see you make the case to a WWII, revolutionary, or Vietnam veteran that these Islamic radicals are somehow more sinister than Nazis, more deceptive than the ununiformed Viet Cong, more evil than the Hessians hired by the British to rape our countryside-to the point where we have no choice but to lower our standards for the first time.
