Skinz4Life12
Has the USPS ever lost one of you packages? If so, you know how frustrating this can be. I ordered a package on Wednesday from Bladensburg, MD and it still has not arrived. I live in Leesburg, VA. The tracking info says it was scanned and departed the Dulles Facility on 4/8. That was 3 freaking days ago. It still hasn't arrived! So I call every where only to hear from all of their incompetent customer service people that no one has seen the package and I am SOL if it went missing since it was uninsured. Of course I didn't insure it, ITS COMING FROM BLADENSBURG FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!! I ordered whey protein on 4/9 from California via USPS with the same shipping method as the missing package, and it arrived today. WTF?! Sorry for ranting, but this is just absurd. Its an hour drive away and they lose the package???? Of course they aren't admitting it, but there is definitely a problem. Has this happened to anyone before? Any advice what I should do, if I can actually do anything at all?

81artmonk
Yeah, they tend to be a little absurd and stupid at times. I got one for ya. I ordered a shirt for my wife as a gift. The person who shipped it to me used an inappropriate shipping bag turned inside out. When I go to pick it up, the USPS holds my parcel hostage. They tell me that what this person did was against the rules and unless I pay more money to cover the additional costs, I can't have my package. I tell them it's not my problem that this person did what they did. Well, they say, unless you can get them to cover the cost, I am responsible for it and can't have my shirt until it's paid. It's christmas, and I can't afford to screw around and not have the gift for christmas while I play merry go around with the USPS on who whould pay!! TheDoyler23
I like when they just dump the package on my step without so much as knocking on the door. Thanks for that one second of effort.
chipwhich
USPS can get an item mailed standard mail at the most office almost anywhere in the continental us in 2 days. Use their express mail services and it takes longer. I don't understand it. I use FedEx only for all shipping.
Mark The Homer
This lady who lives in bowie sent me a package about five weeks ago by USPS Express Mail. It was guaranteed to arrive the next day. Took eight days to arrive.

BigMike619
Im sick and tired of getting junk email. coupons, fliers, just junk mail. i asked the mail lady to stop and she said there was nothing she could do. it wastes paper, i dont use them and they just end up in the recycle bin. i tried to protest by not taking them out but then they left notes on my door saying they wouldnt deliver my mail until i cleaned out my box...well my box wouldnt be full if it wasnt for junk mail!! Skinz4Life12
i just want to strangle these people i would have gone and picked it up if i knew it would have been this much hassle. its literally 45 minutes away..
.Guy.
you should ask whoever shipped you the item to either refund your money or send another. when i ship something and it gets lost in the mail (and was uninsured) i take responsibility for it. i would expect the same as a customer. I think there's a number or something you can call to get taken off such a list. But I could be wrong. At any rate, its not that hard to just toss it in the trash. I can think of one scenario that is worse. I live in this small town that has its own newsletter that comes out once a week. Its like a newspaper, only smaller, and it comes wrapped in blue plastic and they just toss it in your driveway. Its a pain in the ass because I don't even really read it. And then you have a few lazy neighbors who wont bother to pick it up from their driveway and it always ends up in the street.

Get Pissed
On a different note I would love to be a mailman. I really want to be a carrier big time. Think about it. Your not stuck in a cubicle. You are out and about, walking and constantly surrounded by nature. Work for government=tremendous benefits. I hate wearing pants- I only wear short so I can do that. Plus I just moved to Florida so great weather. Nobody hates the mailman. All you do is deliver mail, nobody such as a boss is breathing down my neck constantly. Sounds ideal for me. jnhay
UPS, Fedex, and USPS all have their problems. USPS seems to have the worst tracking system out of the three.

SUSkinsFan
Not USPS related, but I have to ***** about FedEx. I bought an iPod touch and an iPod shuffle a couple of months ago. I knew I would be at school the day they were delivered so I printed out the forms that allow you to pre-sign for packages. I signed them and left them in my front door. I made sure to check the box that said I wanted the packages left at my BACK DOOR. What does the carrier do? Leaves them at my front door (but luckily they didn't get stolen). But seriously. That was about $450 just sitting on my front porch for 6 hours.

You could have had them delievered to your mom's house or whatnot. Or whoever you knew in the area that would be home to receive them.

I love how people love to bash these companies I mean, some of these companies probably handle millions of boxes a day. And probably deliver 99% of them without incident. It sucks that occasionally they screw up. And, if so, there are recourses to take to rectify the problem. No one is perfect.
